A part of me wanted to pick it up to support Nintendo and check out their new thing but i just don't think i'd be into it. I would probably get it and never open it and i don't need more massive boxes sitting around not getting used.

A box in a box!
Probably used all the extra Wii U boxes layin around!
I'm betting it's because they're having issues making it run smoothly on the Switch, woo! Companies are interested in working with the Switch now... but when people keep running into the fact that it's not even close to the PS4 or XB1 they'll start dropping off. Just my prediction.
I'm kind of worried this might be the case. The same thing more or less happened to the Wii. It was a huge seller but the system itself just couldn't handle the games that were being released on the other systems. Some games like COD and Force Unleashed came out on Wii, but they paled in comparison to the other versions. Of course, the Switch is closer to the PS4/XBone in terms of power than the Wii was to PS3/360, but still. With 4k starting to gain traction I think it's bound to happen. The delayed releases probably hurt sales for the Switch versions too. If it's a game you really wanna play, you have to choose between playing it on a different system or waiting months for the Switch version to come out.
That said, I think a lot of companies are going to keep supporting Switch, but I'm not expecting these big multi-plat releases to keep coming for too long. Which honestly I'm ok with since I have a PS4/XBone anyway, and there aren't even many multi-plat AAA games that appeal to me. Wolfenstein II is gonna be the real test imo. Dark Souls, Skyrim and Doom are all older games released before the Switch.
Also I had Labo preordered when it was first announced but cancelled it shortly after. The robot thing seems like a fun companion to 4/20 honestly but I know I wouldn't use it more than a couple times and God of War is coming out the same day. I'll probably grab some if they get clearanced down the road.
That could maybe change when Nintendo rolls out their higher capacity Switch carts and also theres talks of a more powerful Switch model on the horizon. I hope 3rd parties continue to support Switch. It does seem like the Switch is losing a little momentum this year but it may have to do with the slow start to the year as far as big game releases. Hopefully Nintendo can turn that around in the 2nd half of the year.
Dark Souls is the remastered version that's coming out for PS4 and XB1, not the older releases.
And companies probably will make new games that are Switch exclusive. I know I said dropping off but I really should have pointed out I meant in the sense of getting the current gen multiplatform games. Which kind of sucks... but it's more incentive to get a Switch because it will have the unique games from these companies? Just maybe not the heavy hitters. We are still getting CoD, though, right? I'll be interested to see how that port fares.
Do we know anything about the more powerful Switch I keep seeing mentioned? Would this make my launch one obsolete and at some point I have to buy a new one? Like a jump from PS4 to Pro and all that jazz?

I'd assume it would be like comparing a 3DS to a New 3DS. Most games would probably still play on a regular Switch. Possibly a rare occasion that a game may be exclusive to the new Switch like Xenoblade on New 3DS.
Probably wont see anything like this till 2020 i'd say. Switch is only a year old. Doubt they'd do anything like that for a bit. Probably just in the works.
Wasn't the New 3DS mostly pointless outside of a handful of games? If they're making a more powerful version I hope they intend to get more use out of it.

PS4 Pro I feel like it happened too soon in the consoles life cycle. I bought a ps4 at launch and it honestly felt like a slap in the face.
Lol, i would hope so too. I think it comes down to the developers. I'm sure they had high hopes for the New 3DS, but if developers don't take advantage of the extra power then we won't see much from it. Kinda like the DSi. Nobody really used the tech so there was only a handful of titles exclusive to it.
How much different is the remastered version of Dark Souls from the original though? From what I've read the major gameplay difference is a higher cap for multiplayer, and the PS4/XBone versions support 4k and 60fps with better textures, and if those are really the only major changes it seems like it's still gonna be the same game released 7 years ago. We know the Switch won't be able to handle 4k and I'm not convinced it could do 1080p/60fps either. I still would count it as an old game in this instance.
And I wasn't aware any COD was announced for Switch but I haven't really kept track of it.
Yeah, I'm not buying the Xbox or PS4 updates. Nintendo is the only one that might make me do it, but I would prefer it be a little down the road and significant enough to warrant another purchase.
Not saying the Xbox or PS4 upgrades aren't significant, I just don't care enough about the consoles or their library to put in more than my initial investment.

I'd imagine they'll try to match the higher textures and as high a framerate as possible. I don't know what other changes there were to them as I'm not a huge fan of Dark Souls. I just know these are supposed to be much better than the original release. The original release of Dark Souls I imagine would have no problem on Switch... but since there is a delay there is some issue there and I have to assume it's in matching the quality of the XB1/PS4.

I'll be buying the remaster on PS4 since I have a 100% Soulsborne game trophy record to keep (I am a loser), but I'm confident that the PC version, with the ability to mod, will continue to be the superior version of the game.
I don't think that bringing it to Switch is so much "giving people who have played the game a nostalgic experience, improved" as much as "bringing the series to a potential new audience on Nintendo".
For me, Switch is the only way I'll ever bother finishing it. Tried it on both PC and Xbox 360 and gave up. Maybe if it was portable and I could just pick it up here and there? That's more reasonable. I hate to take up tv time with a grind.
Has anyone played Penny punching princess, and if so, is it good? I'm on the fence about it.
Also, when is the physical version of owlboy coming out? Or did I miss the boat on that one?
Its ok. I played an hour or so. Kind of a fun little beat em up bogged down by weird gimmicky things like the calculator/bribing functions. Just feels weirdly implemented and could have been simplified. Can't say im all that into it. Lookin like May 29th for Owlboy!
Aww man that's a bummer. When I read about the calculator/bribing people aspect, it reminded me of Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, so I was thinking maybe it would be good as well, but I guess not. I'm definitely going to have to pick up owlboy. It looks like a solid game, and I've read lots of good reviews.
Is it possible to use a whole docked Switch as a TV-controller or a Switch Pro with the small screen? Maybe it doesn't make much sense but does it work?

You can use a pro with it while undocked if thats what you mean. Like kickstand the switch on a table and use a pro, that works fine. Not sure about using the whole docked switch, lol, i dont know why you'd ever wanna do that when you can just bust off the joycons and put them in the little joycon controller grip. I would assume it would work but would be very unpractical.

Well don't let me stop you from givin it a go if you already knew about the gameplay and were intrigued. Was just a little off putting for me but its not a bad game. I like the regular beat em up mechanics and doin the little coin burst thing when people get stunned. And there is a way to just input the correct amount on the calculator automatically when you're next to something that you are bribing so you dont have to awkwardly try to avoid people while entering numbers. I think maybe if i gave it some more time i could get use to it. Just found it a little difficult and frustating at times mainly due to the calculator/bribing stuff.

Yes when you detach the two joycons, and then use the black little touchscreen itself as the medium with the Pro.
The main advantage of using a docked Switch as a controller would be that you could use double set of 4-button controls. I hate that the joycons aren't interchangable so you could just remove and attach control configs as you'd like.

Not sure i quite understand what you mean. you can switch in and out different joycons. A set aren't paired together unless you plug them in together. You can always just slap in a new left or right joycon. Or change the order in the controller settings.

I saw that and wondered why I haven't gotten a shipping notice. Lol!

Disgaea confirmed for the West, in a real shocker. Do I need to buy that game a 4th time? No. Will I? Maybe
