Inserts & Baggies - How Much?

I'm moving and ran across hundreds, if not thousands, of baggies and boxes of inserts for the following. What are they worth these days? Are they still something people go after??

NES

SNES

N64

Some GB, no bags for this system, just inserts.

Comments

  • Boxes and inserts yes. Boxes, it depends on the game, inserts couple bucks each. I'm pretty sure you could sell baggies in bulk, 10 cents apiece
  • I need an N64 box insert for my Super Mario 64. Not sure what you're asking, but I'm interested for sure.
  • I would have thought baggies for those systems were worth a little more. Are they easy to find in bulk?
  • Not boxes for games. Boxes full of inserts.

$0.10 each for a first party baggie? Maybe 20 years ago.
  • So where are we at realistically on a baggie? $1? $3?
  • I'd start at 10 baggies for $15 shipped and see if you get bites. 10 for $10 sounds realistic. Hell, maybe 10 for $20 if they are selling fast.

Inserts, I'd pair both generic SNES / N64 inserts together and again aim for 10 pairs for $15 shipped.

Actual cardboard inserts I'd assume $2-$3 each.

Of course, there are just my guesses but they sound reasonable to me.

I did mean to be conservative. Like, you could easily move them at that price. I did not realize I was THAT low.

  • Is this for the consoles or for games? I need NES game baggies and inserts, I'd be interested in a lot of them.
  • I'd give ya $60 for 20 N64 baggies and 20 N64 Treys.
  • ill give you a kick in your left nut and then shove a freaky fast hoagie up your ass... all for free! but I will let you motorboat my moobs. I think this sounds fair. that is all! I bid you farewell!
  • Searching for NES console box variants and I found a thread from MRN from TODAY?? What a treat! No legos even!

Are you talking game baggies or console baggies? Either way they're wanted, I'm interested!
  • If it's a game specific poster or warranty card, I'd estimate the value around $5-15 depending on the title. If it's non game specific it might be a harder sell since it can be pulled from any game of the same publisher so an extremely extremely rough guestimate is ~$5/each for those ones. But that's just what it is... a guestimate. Obviously lots of factors take into play here like if the publisher is something like Atlus vs LJN (obviously Atlus would be WAY more desired) and also who is looking at the time and how much money they might have to spend. If it's a game-specific insert of a rare/desired game the value could be ~$25 or maybe even higher!

Also if you have a giant box full of them I wouldn't multiply ($ARBITRARY_DECIDED_VALUE * AMOUNT_YOU_HAVE) to get $TOTAL_GUESTIMATED_VALUE. The thing is, you can list ~100 of these individually on eBay or elsewhere, and 10 of them might sell pretty quickly and you'll be all like "cha ching immma going to Vegas lulz" but then the rest of them wont sell and will likely sit for a while. So let's say we guestimate the average one worth ~$5 I still think closer to like $2-3 each would be more fair for a giant box full of them. But again a LOT of factors come into play here. And again... my guestimate is as good as anyone's guestimate, really. This is like trying to estimate the value on some Game Boy CIB titles... very difficult.

As for plastic baggies... I see them as basically a non-game-specific insert but it can be pulled from ANY game (it doesn't necessarily have to be a specific publisher) so it's even more interchangeable than the average non-game-specific insert, so for that reason they are worth less. But also another factor here that lowers the price on these compared to the average non-game-specific insert is that ultimately it's just a plastic bag. LOL. It takes a very special breed of detail-attentive collector to care about this sort of thing... albeit YES there are still a lot of that breed of collector out there (such as probably most of us reading this). But A) less people overall care about plastic bags (but lots still do) and B) it's incredibly easy to make or buy repro plastic bags and many of the people that do care about plastic bags will be content with this as a solution to save $. Yes the originals will always hold value, though. I'd guestimate their value around $.50-$1 each. I also feel that NES ones would be closer to $1 and GB/SNES/N64 closer to $.50. But see if you can find that person willing to pay $5 each for them... ya never know. Collectors are cray.
  • I would pay a fair price for OEM inserts in pristine condition. Baggies on the other hand are plastic and that's never changed. I get mine from one of my suppliers who buys from ASO CO Limited in Japan, and using these after restoring consoles and game packs actually makes these smell brand new after a few weeks of packaging. Using old original plastic won't do that so I'd rather skip on buying old plastic bags since these aren't special and it's not like these are stamped. That new game smell is worth a heck of a lot more to me.
  • I'll buy some baggies from ya if they are clean

I LOVE moobs.  That does sound fair.  I only need Righty.

Game baggies.  I don't think I have any system baggies.
