I read stories that Octopath in the US and Japan were under printed so it can be tricky to get in the short term.
Sonic Mania I have this and i got brutally stuck with the act1 boss of the third stage where you're on a fast run with missiles. I get the concept but one thing Sonic had always been plagued with is horrible jumping mechanics if you're not up to speed or jumping on a non-flat surface. I burned through all my lives and hadn't lost any until then trying to hop the orange ones as they just explode on contact. I read some things online saying it's a great game, but like a few spots in the game could have been done better as they're cheap and infuriating so I'm guessing I found the first one. I put it down and back in the box, I don't want to fury kill my handheld so I went back to Ys for now.
So I imagine my 4 year old would be handing me the controller a lot with Sonic.
I dunno, I don't agree with the guy above you. I didn't have any issues with the difficulty or bosses and I'm not that great at Sonic games in general. It's probably easier than the Genesis games and I managed to do those myself when I was around that age. The only challenge for me is the last level in the game because it's kind of confusing and you're racing against the clock.
New Saernic the Herdgehaerg SE looks pretty slick!
Soooo glad I didn't buy the digital copy.
Same! I had been holding out and was so glad when they announced physical. Plus, it's got awesome packaging at a dirt-cheap price! IDK how they're getting by with charging so little for this, but me likey.
Yeah, I don't really like Sonic myself. I was ready to pass on it but my wife went to Subway the other day and my daughter got a Sonic toy. She likes Boom and she's played the original on Genesis before and really likes him. Not the first time she's asked to play Sonic games. The purchase would more so be for her.
I've always wanted to try one of these games but never have. Each time one comes out, reviews say it's better than the last, but since they come out do often, I easily convince myself to wait for the next.

Honestly, that game is so damn good that I didn’t mind at all paying for it twice!

Is this the standard physical release that I see on Amazon, or is it a special release only that comes with the art book and reversible cover?
I'm guessing this doesn't have an English release - is that correct?
From NintendoEverything.com:
"Gust’s latest game is coming west. Koei Tecmo just announced that Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World will be released in North America and Europe, with its launch planned for Winter 2018.
Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World will be sold physically and digitally this winter on Switch."
Checking online, looks like the Gamestop close to me has Sonic Mania Plus and Octopath Traveler... guess maybe I'll swing by there later today. Another RPG I'll never have time to finish.
I passed on the Thumper CE but picked up the standard edition. There wasn't really anything in it that seemed interesting and tbh that steelbook is really ugly looking lol.

Pretty surprising to see it drop so low so quickly, but the Secret of Mana remake for PS4 and Has Been Heroes both also dropped in price quickly so this might be a trend for Gamestop exclusives going forward. And if that's the case, I think I'm just gonna wait for sales for future titles.
Edit: Ended up grabbing Sonic Mania for my daughter and Octopath Traveler. Shaq Fu was knocked down to $29 but for some reason I didn't buy it? Maybe tomorrow when I come back to town. Couldn't bring myself to buy either Runner 3 or Crash Trilogy.
Been working stupid hours this week and haven't been here most of the week. Now to have my morning coffee and catch up on what you other Switch crazies have been talking about

My daughter wants me to get Sonic Mania so I might pick that up on Friday.
Is Octopath really as difficult to find as I'm seeing in the titles of youtube videos?
I dunno about in the States, but there's no shortage here in Canada that I can tell. Stores are stocked up, plenty available.
