They're in a way like ebay, more about not helping the shipper of the goods and more about the payor of funds. Maybe I'm paranoid but I've seen enough bad deals in and out of games where paypal is used alone or through ebay to sponge a victim.

He said family friends gift payment.

I wouldn't be that overly concerned.  If it is a lot of items (as opposed to one 5 figure item), then maybe break into smaller shipments.  Do a few things for $2k, make sure all received well, then do more.

Good news! Your payment is now available

    This case is now closed

    Hi Adam,

We reviewed this case and have closed it without any refund to the buyer.

The case will not affect your seller performance. Any feedback left for this transaction will be removed.

Got an update? Sometimes with repeat customers I send one of those self-destructing links so eBay can't view it under the guise of it being instructions for the item or something, with details on how to pay outside of eBay etc. With that amount I would make an AS-IS bill of sale or meet them locally or something yikes.

  • ebay lost the photos for over 300 of my listings a couple days ago. Get an update today telling me they are gone and they are sorry. They are giving sellers 200 free additional insertion listings and reimbursing insertion fees for those listings.

Well thank you ebay .I already pay for a store and get 10k free insertions so you will be refunding me zero. This will take hours and hours months and months to fix. Piece of shit company. Glitch after Glitch after Glitch this year. And they want to handle payments? They cant even handle pictures.
  • Won a sealed copy of Sunday Funday for around $105, an extremely low price. I am almost sure it was resealed, however, even for a complete copy, that's a good price. No communication from the seller, won't respond to my messages, never shipped. Filed a claim and pretty sure I won't get the item. It's such a bummer when you finally get a good deal and the seller intentionally ignores you because they didn't get what they wanted for the item. If you wanted more you should have used a reserve or a BIN. So irritating!
  • Ebays stock fallen 10 percent since the beginning of second quarter. Some of the big dogs sold off chunks of stock to cash in right on time. New management the last 5-10 years has been completely incompetent and destroying the company.
  • Gamestop employees making side deals to resell , goodwill employees texting friends to grab hidden goodies , and all the scammers on ebay

What people are doing due to those glitches is reducing the subscription or leaving all together. You have an Anchor subscription I take it. You should consider reducing to either premium or basic until they get there act together. The only way change can be made is reducing Ebay's income especially if you are not getting the same sales as you were say 1 year ago.

  • Reducing to premium gives them even more money or me making less by not having anything on there. You have to be constantly posting stuff to get in their algorithm
  • It depends what less is. If and this is if cause I don't know your numbers but if you are listing 10,000 items and vast majority of those items aren't selling and just being relisted then Ebay is winning and you are losing. I know what you saying list more gets more exposure and potentially more sales. On the flip side if those sales aren't coming in droves and sales are down low its not worth that extra money on subscription nor time to make listing.

When you stop posting your stuff stops selling. Their algorithm gives people with constant posting priorityLarge stores need constant churn of inventory. Some things sit. Thats part of it. Thats how all stores work online or brick and mortar. Ebay gives you 10,000 insertion fees with anchor store. Preminum gets you 1000.  Around 3,000 items the premium store starts costing more. So no, ebay doesnt win in that case. I save money with sn anchor store.

  • Can anyone give me the cliff notes on the latest eBay seller update and how it will impact me? I sell about 10 items a month, keeping around 40-50 listed at all times.

It probably wont affect you. Ebays already done its damage to me in last years and this years spring updates. Its just a few fee hikes in certain categories.

    Short run down there.
  • Mercari. Avoid it.

Had a seller send me reproductions claiming to have had them for almost 10 years, when the games "came out." Too bad the games are from the 90's. Sigh. The best part is the Mercari return process has stopped working. The stated turn around time of a 1 to 2 day review has now blossomed into a week. I just may have to eat the cost on these.
  • Was wondering if anyone's ever seen this before and how they handled it.

Sold an item on eBay just now and there's a note in the order details saying the buyer is no longer a register eBay user. They have a positive feedback of 1, and paid for the item. Curious, i called eBay to see what they suggest and what are the possible risks if any and they are just telling me to fulfill my normal obligations and ship out the item within my stated handing time. They said as long as i ship to the address on the order and upload tracking i should be fine no matter what happens. But can't help to think i should just cancel the order, block the user, and relist. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't do that if they paid and gave a shipping address.

Could be just someone wanted one or two items and set up an account just for that, and after they paid they deleted it. Why? Who knows, but unless they give you a better reason to cancel the order, I'd just ship it and be done.

They just open cases, dont respond back and escalate. I just have a feeling they get a customs due notice. They dont want to pay it. So they claim not received. Get the money back and use that to pay the customs. Boom free item.

Had another one today I had to refund. 33 dollars down the drain for an item theyll receive thats just held up in customs. International Sales should be buyer buys at own risk. I ship, I should be off the hook.

Does using the eBay GSP solve this issue? I always understood you only had to get it to Kentucky and you're off the hook, but I could be wrong...

  • Then you get no buyers. Gsp is awful

This issue seems to have been pretty much resolved.  I waited a few hours yesterday before doing anything to see what might transpire, and when I checked back the note on the order details was gone and the user seemed to have gotten his account back.  I then decided to message the buyer just to touch base with him to see if he could give an explanation.  Apparently according to the buyer when he placed the order Ebay disabled his account for "security reasons" and he had to call to get it reinstated.  Never heard of this happening before, but maybe something was screwy with his payment method?  On the purchase notification email it did say the payment was unverified.  Either way I'm just going to ship it out and see what happens.

  • So apparently the most common reason for cancelling orders is "Sorry, my kid logged into my Ebay account and bidded up your item."  Happened to me several times now.  Latest Ebay user if you want to add to blocked list: jamaalscollections

Then I check their feedback and they regularly buy tons of retro video game items.  Must be nice to always be able to so easily just back out of winning an auction anytime you change your mind.

Can you still file a non-paying bidder strike on them?

I don't think doing that applies in the situation where the buyer requests to CANCEL the order.  Only if they won the item but do not pay.

As far as I know there's absolutely no consequence on the buyer side, at least as far as what I as the seller can do aside from adding him to my blocked buyer list.  What's worse, if they happened to pay before requesting the cancellation I think Paypal keeps the transaction fee I have to pay after I refund their money.  Absolutely disgusting, the buyer should have to pay that.

  • I'm about to slap down a non-paying strike on someone. Guy bids my item up just a few dollars over my asking which was still a good deal, then after he wins I start getting repeated messaged during the night about how I'm probably selling some chinese knockoff and getting all spun up over it. I finally try and convince the guy and he seems maybe ok, then nothing, and then I prove it with pictures, and still dead silence. I'm giving the dude until the end of the day and I'll close it out as I want my fee money back.

It's called bidders remorse which is why I always like to do fixed price ads.

  • eBay has once again updated and now all my listings are automatically added with best offer. -.-
  • Been selling a ton of shit on ebay lately and keep getting people adding a note to their purchase "please do not include invoice" which is weird because I never do, and the 10+ years ive been on eBay I have never got that request, and have got 4 in the last week from different buyers.

So thats what that is huh? I wonder if there is a way I can avoid it. I mean I am getting just about retail for them, so I can’t really see what profit they are making, but dont really care either.

I am also shipping to the supplied paypal address.
