Sculptor's Cut Box Only Price Check

*Picture Heavy*

So I've had this box for about 4 years. It came from a former manager over at Funcoland, which I'd gotten quite a few manuals and boxes and other paper items from. I'll never go for a CIB N64 set so I'd been debating on selling it to fund finishing other sets that I'm actually working on. I know condition is everything with higher end boxes like this. I've tried my best to take pictures of everything I can see on the box to try and get a good gauge on value. The main issue I see is it looks like it was probably opened with a box cutter as there is a scratch along the top all the way down the box. Could have also been done when an employee opened the original shipping container. I may just let it go for Auction on eBay and see where it lands soon, but wanted to get a ballpark on it first.

  • I sold a sculptors box in considerably worse condition about 6 months ago for $750 or so. I could see this going for anywhere between $1000 and 1200. It's in pretty excellent condition.
  • I just want to commend you on the condition of that box, especially since the Blockbuster sticker lends one to believe that it sat on their shelves. It doesn't appear to be sun damaged and is in overall excellent shape (for being a shelf-sitting rental box.) . If I had the cash to drop on it, I'd be tempted to start trying to piece together a set, starting with this box.

I'm sure it'd do well on eBay, posting it here and other places for a bit of marketing. Nice find.
  • Sold mine for $900 in January and yours is in a lot better condition.
  • I know of one in similar condition that sold At Midwest Gaming Classic two years ago for $1200.
  • All good info. I was thinking probably in the 1100-1200 myself but could be higher now off the info in this thread. I went ahead and listed in on Ebay and put it a little higher BIN on it with a BO.
  • That is more for a box than I was expecting.

    Question for everyone.

Is this title worth more sold off in pieces or all at once?
  • can u provide a link?

    Here you go

  • how can u say its acceptable when it looks in that mint condition? i don't understand your reason for that.

Thats not how conditions on ebay work. There certain guidlines for each condition categrory per ebays guidlines. Per Ebays site

"Very Good: An item that is used but still in very good condition. No damage to the jewel case or item cover, no scuffs, scratches cracks, or holes. The cover art and liner notes are included. The VHS or DVD box is included. The video game instructions and box are included. The teeth of disk holder are undamaged. Minimal wear on the exterior of item. No skipping on CD/DVD. No fuzzy/snowy frames on VHS tape. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections."

Based off listing it as Very good, it implys the games included and functional, as well as the instruction manual. If items are listed incorrectly in the condition category it would just create a future issue. People will ask for partail refunds due to misrepresentation. I'm trying to make this possible sale as streamlined as possible.

  • When I needed a box and manual it was significantly cheaper to just buy a complete set than piece mine together even considering I bought my mint cart years ago for like $50 or so.

Gotta learn what ebay conditions actually mean. There are rules.

Dont look at condition word as actual condition. Cart only has to be acceptable by rule. So anyone posting differently isnt following directions
  • I just sold a complete game with a label-free box and mint manual for $2026.  Maybe I should have sold the pieces separately :-/

It was also sold via an auction. Prices are almost always lower.

Technically shouldn't the item have been listed in the "boxes and inserts" category (or whatever it is called) instead of the "video games" category?  Thus you would be able to change the condition?

If ebay had an actual game collector on staff providing direction with these things it would rush so much smoother.

Yes. It should just be "used" condition in box only
