I can't remember the name of this game and it's driving me nuts.

When I was in 7th grade (2014) I went to visit relatives down in Louisiana, and one of my cousins had a bunch of games we played while I was down there. There was one game that I enjoyed a lot, and could have sworn was a diablo game of some sort, but looking it up today and realising the Diablo games seem to be top-down, I doubt that's the case. All I remember of this game is that it was very similar to Skyrim: it was in first person (no idea if third person was an option but doubt it), somewhat medieval setting, and I remember the game begins with you waking up in a dungeon of some kind, going through a few passages to get out, and some guy testing your strength or something like that while you're still in captivity. After you get out there was also something about a swampish area, with a shack in the middle of a marshy area of it. It would have come out before Feburary of that year, but it seemed like a fairly recent game (or at least within the past few years).

Any ideas? Even if it doesn't fit perfectly I'd like to hear it, a few of these might be a bit inaccurate from years of not thinking about it, in fact half of these I remembered just as I'm typing this. Thanks!

  • Sounds kinda like Fable? The second or third one? I've only played the first so I'm not sure how close the description matches but thought I'd throw that out there
  • Sounds kind of like the beginning to Oblivion if I 'm not mixing up games, especially you feeling that it felt like Skyrim.
  • I don't know much about Dark Souls 1 / 2 / 3 except they're supposed to be brutally difficult and I think there is sworld-wielding armored protagonist and maybe dragons (among other monsters and stuff). Could it be a Dark Souls game?

I think that's actually it! It's weird to realise it's an elder scrolls title, like I had it mentally catagorized under an entirely different game series. Thanks!

  • I was gonna say Morrowind. lol

I was going to mention the same thing. I remember this exact intro to the game and I lost interest and quit playing soon after.

Now I feel like going back and playing it again! I never got that far into it, I had the guide and it just became overwhelming with the amount of stuff I wanted to do with my character.
