How mucho? There are only a bunch of CIB on eBay at the moment.

This game --> Shanghai

Oh, and for those interested, a nice read about HAL and Shanghai:

  • Honestly, I'd assume $50 at absolute most. That'd have to be a really good copy too. Shanghai is a cheaper game for the system and since it's Mahjong, not many people have fond memories of it.

    Honestly, if I saw one for more than $10, I'd debate getting it. This would be an item I'd want to flip/trade and typically I don't like to buy stuff like that unless I can double my investment. I'm sure you could get $20 for, probably even $40 but I don't know how many people are looking for this game. That's the main thing. Someone might be willing to pay $50, maybe even much more than that if they've patiently been waiting for this game for their complete set but that's a gamble. There aren't going to be many people looking for this one.
  • Ok thanks, but its got nothing to do with mahjong.

    It just doesnt seem to be that common in vgc and cib, so i was wondering.

    Super mario land is a common game id say, its all over the place on ebay cib

    The fact that shanghai was a very early game, and only released in the US (not europe), i guess they didnt print many copies.

    You sure about that? Looks like mahjong to me.

  • Yes I'm sure. Shanghai is to mahjong what solitaire is to poker (sort of). It's OK, 99% of people in the West think that Shanghai/Yakuman is actual mahjong.

    Get a glimpse of the general rules here, but know that there are different rules, mostly related to different regions (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan...).

    Sorry for sounding like a teacher -- I'm just here for a price check
  • Agreed, $50 max and probably more like $30-$40.

    Very common misconception. Shanghai uses a lot of the same tiles as Mahjong, but completely different rules and gameplay.
