GEM MINT, First Run, 100% Complete SMB 3

Well, I've been looking at historic listings for CIB Super Mario Bros 3 and I can't get a good guage on value for a 100% complete copy of the first run.  Prices are all over the place on eBay and after spot checking about 5, I've not seen any in great shape.

So, being that this was one of my favorite games as a kid, I think I'd like to pick up a "perfect" CIB copy but I have not clue what's fair and motivating.  So, what's fair.

To be clear, I'd want a box with no creases, edge wear or bending and the corners need to be crisp.  Manual needs to be crisp with no bends, foam in good shape, all advertisements must be included and the cart has a perfect label and is generally clean.  I don't mind minor wear on the pins. Very, very minor wear on the box that can only be seen by shifting a light source is ok two.  I don't need a likely 10.0 copy if submitted to WATA, but I'd like something probably in the 9.0 or better range.

  • You also might consider getting a sealed one that doesn't have a perfect seal. Contents would be mint, and box could be as near mint as your tastes require. I realize it's probably not the same price as a mint CIB, but it's a way to broaden your search and increase your odds of finding the right copy for yourself. Good luck!

It took me awhile to find a nice first print. That being said, there isn't much price discrepancy between it and any other print (unless something has changed in the past while). If you were to put up a bounty of $100, you'd get one. I assume you could be diligent about checking eBay daily and get one for around $50.
  • can someone please let me know what makes it first print vs not... i just found smb 2 and 3 mint

The "Bros" is on the left side of the box, kind of covering Mario's hand.
