How to subscribe to topics?

I can't seem to find how to subscribe to a topic except for when I initally create it. I'm sure I am missing something obvious. Can ya help me out?

There is a subscribe button with a star at the top of the page

Look above the first post in the thread. You'll see the tabs laid out there: "Home" "Bookmarks" etc.... 3rd from right is "(star symbol) Subscribe"
