Sega Employee (Prototype?) Sega Genesis console with Sega CD.

Just got a call from someone looking sell quite a huge collection. They bought stuff a long time ago from a Sega of America emplyee. In their collection looks to be a prototype Sega Genesis console? Not sure myself, but it looks legit?

What is something like this worth? The Sega Genesis looks interesting, but I am not sure if the attached Sega CD is anything but a normal one?

    i don't know if you can verify it as a prototype. it might be an internal test unit. there are several revisions of genesis motherboards and there are quirks from rev to rev. it'd be reasonable to have a unit with each rev for testing/troubleshooting.

    Gotcha! I was thinking it was a test unit of some kind rather than a prototype. Any idea what it's worth? I can't find much of anything online about it?

    Does not appear to be a DEV unit or prototype. Looks like a internal test station for testing games

    Based on the outer shell, I would not expect it to contain a late version model 1 motherboard.

    Yeah just looks like it's got a missing door writing and stickers to me with out board pic. But the model one Sega cd Combo goes for upwards of $300 with a decent looking genesis on top. If the Sega cd works it's worth buying!!!

    Ok just made the pick up, and man it was way more epic than I thought it would be! I'll post it up in Finders Keepers tomorrow.
