Kanomi/Ultra 5 screw Silent Service Error Cart

Hey guys I have been thinking about selling my 5 screw Silent Service. How much should I ask for this error cart?

Comments

  • If you mind me asking what's the error on it?
  • This Cart is considered to be a error cart since Nintendo stoped production of 5 Screw cart shells in 1987 and this game was released in 1989. There for it's a error cart since it has the wrong Shell on it. There's a whole tread here dedicated to this topic.
  • Thanks for the info, I did not know that.
  • 1 million dollars

PM the OP here and see what it sold for in 2015. Somewhere to start. Finding data on these carts is tough. He mentions $50 dollars. Good luck.

  • I saw one on Ebay for $160, but don't know how close that number is to the actual cost.
  • LOL didnt know this had a 5 screw variant, I'll have to check a certain place i know that has over 100 copies of it laying about.
  • Some of the Konami/Ultra games have 5 screw variants long after everyone else moved on to 3 screw. Never was sure why.

The one on ebay is in crap condition with the end label all torn up mine is mintey. If anyone here is interested in it PM me. I would also entertain a trade for a Rare PlayStation 2 game or two.

Good thing it is easy to spot. These things are everywhere.

  • How is this an "error"? Using an older model shell is not an error. Like buying two rc cars with same box and inside they have slightly different bodies, one from current production and one from previous (already phased out) production. Happens.

" error" being used like "rare" to sell anything, seems to me.
  • http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=170590 Then call it an Odd/Rare Variant . They used to be called error carts on this site once up on a time. Maybe because the back warning label was was left blank at the factory. Still this cart is a lot more "RARE" then the 3 screw version.
  • Yeah, I would call it a variant. Konami deliberately using up old 5 screw cartridge shells is different from an unintentional mistake.
  • got to take a look at a lot of silent service copies ... all normal.
