Should I get a PS3?

I've been talking to a guy on Craig's List, and he has one for sale for $350. It comes with the box and everything, plus Resistance: Fall of Man, and Talladega Nights (Blu Ray).

  • not a Sony fan here, from what I have played I haven't been impressed by PS3 either.

  • The only reason I'm considering it is the price. I figure if I don't like it, I should be able to make a little money off of it on the Bay.
  • I have had 2 PS3 systems, a 20gb and a 60gb. I was not impressed with the games up till about now. I sold both but will get a new one when GTA IV and Final Fantasy come out. Plus it consumes about $3.00 of energy a day!
  • you mean it will up my electricity bill by $3.00 a day?
  • Some website or forum that I read after I got my first one had all that stuff calculated out. That is when you connect it to the internet and have to leave the power on 24/7.
  • google search PS3 energy consumption. It uses double the amount of energy than the 360 and 10 times more than the PS2 and 125 times more than the NES!
  • If I were to get a system other than the wii it would be a PS3.... the 360s have a 80% fail rate I think and the PS3s have a 2%... I think thats exagerating a bit... but the PS3 seems like a much more solid system with some good games coming out in the future...
  • If you got the money, you might as well pick it up. That is a really good price IMO. I refuse to get one until anything good comes out for it. I may end up buying one when Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out, depending on if that game lives up to the hype or not...
  • Good price, but I'd never bee interested in one even if it were $350, . When i was a kid, i used to love the playstation, but now most of the games for it arn't that good. Ps1 was the only sony system any good, ps2 was alright, but the ps3 is just an overpriced rip off! Bunch of crap games and a ton of internet expenses, game expenses, etc. that i don't need. I'd much rather play my NES than a bunch of high - definition crappy games. If you don't have one, go for the Wii.
  • If you are just doing it for the re-sell purpose only, I would say go ahead.. you might make a few bucks.. However, if you are considering buying the system to own and play it, well I would suggest waiting another year or so. There really aren't very many titles out there yet and IMO I don't think the system is worth owning until better content is released. Just a thought.
  • I has a ps3 for a while but sold it to get a Wii.I am happy with my choice to switch for sure.
