Are these NES games 100% complete?

  • Correct, only the manual and Nintendo Power Insert.
  • Thanks a lot, Austin532, I Will check your amazing list to see which Nintendo Power insert belongs to the game, according to the reléase date. Very usefull and complete list, I always check it, along with wizards' gamefaqs list, very helpfull.

Another game I am not sure is Batman. Do you know if it came just with a manual or did it include something else? Gremlins 2 from Sunsoft do have poster and I think registration card, but Batman Return of the joker only has manual, absolutely nothing else, so that is why I am not sure about the first Batman. I had it when I was a kid but I honestly dont remember and I too am OCD about getting stuff absolutelly complete.
  • Can anyone help with what would be needed to make up a 100% complete SQOON?
  • Just the basics as far as I know. Cart, manual, black sleeve, and box. It was before the NP inserts and IREM did not have any inserts at the time.

    And baggie, right?

    Thanks for the help bud!

  • Yes, every game came with a baggie and styrofoam.
  • Sqoon comes with a poster, too lazy to go take pictures of mine.
  • Huh, indeed it does. Interesting that Sqoon was supposed to be published by Broderbund but still have IREM on the box. I wonder if only certain copies came with the poster as it seems quite uncommon.

Some games had a cardboard spacer instead of styrofoam.
  • What other games did besides Captain Planet?
  • Very interesting.... about the Sqoon poster. Thanks for posting.

Can anyone post an image of the full poster?

Also, any idea what games other than Sqoon this same poster might have been released with?
  • Here's a partial photo. Maybe the early Broderbund titles came with it?

thanks for sharing.  Any other games, or just captain planet?  maybe other mindscape games?

  • I wonder if the rights holder to Captain Planet made it a condition of licensing the property.

MC Kids, though we aren't sure if they all came that way.  May have been a variant within MC Kids.
  • I'm pretty sure all of the Captain Planet's that got thrown away are more harmful to the environment then styrofoam. XD
  • Makes me kind of want to go find a complete one, and stuff a styrofoam block in there just because. Plenty of because reasons can finish that, including just how bad that cartoon really was.
  • My mind is blown after learning about the CP insert. I need to go check mine, I'm pretty sure it's styrofoam.
  • Does anyone know what inserts came with Bubble Bobble Part 2 to make it 100% complete? Thanks.
  • Have a pic of yours?

Hey, I have been getting your PM's about this but quite honestly I haven't wanted to open my Sqoon CIB up as it's only been opened twice ever.  So now 3 times because you have asked multiple times for this and I guess no one else is helping you?  My cart is 10/10, manual is 10/10 never opened, first time I unfolded the poster is for this picture.  Box is gem mint still has 95% of the plastic wrap with unpunched hangtab, just has a tiny bit of white on the top back left corner, anything else is camera flash.  Please note in the 3rd picture the round light balls on the top of the poster are from the sun coming through the blinds in my office, they are not on the poster.  Hope this helps.

No, because I don't have a copy yet. Just doing some investigating.

Wow, thank you so much! That is tremendous help! I did not mean for you to go out of your way and open a grail game which you basically never touch, but I really appreciate you doing that! Indeed, nobody else seemed to have a clue about the Sqoon poster. That is truly a beautiful collection piece that you have! Thanks again!

Please tell me you took.a higher res photo with the product code....I want to know if it’s got Brøderbund’s or Irems 3 digit prefix on it!
  • @ PowerPlayers -

If he did not, I can help. I tracked down a copy of that poster awhile back, so I can check for the code for you later.

That poster is in the early Brøderbund games, but I want to know if his has a unique code.

I know the end result will probably be just like how Tombs & Treasure (an Infocom game) has a generic Activision poster with a generic Activision prefix instead of a unique code.

But it’s fun to imagine it might be possible to have an IRE code instead of BRO.

  • Bubble Bobble 2 was the only Taito NES game released in '93 so hard saying what it came with. In my opinion it most likely came with the same poster and Nintendo Power insert as Little Samson. It probably also has the Gray Epilepsy Sheet - NES-DOC-USA/CAN.

    So most likely this:

    -Cartridge (TAI-BQ-USA)

    -Box (TAI-BQ-USA)

    -Manual (NES-BQ-USA)

    -Taito Poster (TAI-NES-US-5)

    -Nintendo Power Insert (GP-NES-USA)

    -Gray Epilepsy Sheet (NES-DOC-USA/CAN)

    -Black Textured Sleeve
