Slobby's World
Enjoyable show on netflix.
A guy has a shop in tuscon called “Generation cool” where he specailizes in selling 80s and 90s (more 90s) pop culture stuff and clothes.
He also is big into shoes and hats and high end streetwear.
Anyone watch it? Its setup losely around trade/sale deals where they talk about how much he got it for and what its worth. He does have an Nes section in the store, and sold a guy a cib mario 3 challenge set variant for 125 (or 75 i dont remember)

I walked away from the show 20 mins in the same way I'd walk away from Slobby Robby in real life if he ever tried to talk to me. Yeah fuck that guy he tries too hard.
agreed. I watched the first episode, but I knew that I wasn't gonna watch the second after 10 minutes.
... Slobby Robby ...
The guy really goes by this as a nickname?
Is it at least ironic in some way? Or is he the stereotypical neckbeard comic shop owner from the Simpsons?

Not sure that makes it any better.
The store is really not that cool and it's overpriced. I was just recently in Tucson and I went in there and didn't see no video games, just a bunch of dirty toys.
Hah, yeah most collectible toy stores jack up prices on grubby toys (ugh) hoping to entice suckers/tourists who don't really know what things are worth. The ones I've come across did anyway. It's best to go with collector forum sites, non business Etsy sellers and thrift stores (not antique shops although you may find a good deal once in a while)...
First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas,..you can find some pretty cool deals if the sellers care and / or clean up the stuff or if you want to clean up the stuff yourself. A guy years ago was selling dirty vintage (and somewhat common) plush Care Bears for like $20 each... part of me wanted to save them and part of me wanted to save my money. I ended up doing latter.
The bootleg gucci and stuff like that is hilarious though
Had this pop up on Netflix suggestion list... hard to believe that they went with the show poster/cover-art that they did.
I will say there were some parts where I was like Slobby Robby is a straight up creeper a hole, but wonder how much is just for the show versus how he is in real life, some parts he seemed like he'd be cool to hang out with and other times I feel like id want to punch him in the throat.
I think my favorite episode was when they went to NY I beleive and met up with tommy hilfigures brother and they showed him the private collection.
My real question is going to be he deals all in cash it seems, I wonder with the show if thats going to fuck him in a way. Feel like he definitely doesn't report all his transactions to the government and feel someone might THOT audit him and say something to the IRS to check him out.
