Warning about Play Asia...
So i've been going back and forth with Play Asia via email because i received a damaged item in the mail. Don't know if anyone else has had to deal with them on this issue but it is laughable so i figured i should share. I don't even know what say, just be careful i guess if you order anything large from them. I have ordered quite a bit from them in the past and never had any problems.
The TLDR: their policy is a joke and you won't get a refund and I'm grumpy about it so now you're hearing about it.
Here's some pics of the item i recieved and our email exchange:

My initial message isnt shown because it was sent ln their website but mainly asked how to go about an exchange or refund and this is the response i got:

My response:

They agreed to pass on my concerns to someone higher up and so i got this response today:

So they bumped it up from $3 to $5! And im pretty sure thats just like a voucher for their website, not even a refund on my card. My final response:

Update!
....Justice Has Prevailed!!

Next time don't open it and refuse delivery.
I should have. I guess i was hoping it was ok inside. Had also been pretty excited to get this item.
I consider stuff like this a dice roll, as I buy a lot internationally as well. If they had shipped a damaged game in a normal box, I can see the demand that they compensate you, but this was completely out of their control.
Joking aside, that sucks man.
In this case the package was damaged by the shipping company. So it's the shipping companies fault. You can file a claim with the shipping company even if you didn't purchase insurance. It varies by company but typically they have some standard insurance built into their shipping services for lost or damaged items that caps out around $100 or so
Sucks when returns don't go our way
It's funny how that works.I've had games come all the way from Japan in nothing but an envelope without any damage. Guess the moral of the story is pay for insurance on international shipping.
Lol, same! I guess so. Hadn't really dealt with this issue before.
Stuff like this makes me happy I've sworn off all CEs
Lost a customer? You know you can't quit them

Lol, i saw your name and figured it would be somethin like, thats what you get for buying collectors editions!
Play-Asia has always used plenty of bubble wrap and a decent enough sized box to not get boned on a shipping rate.
I'm not saying you shouldn't be pissed, you're just pissed at the wrong party here.
I've had more collector's edition stuff fucked up from Amazon's shitty packaging than anything I've ordered internationally.

That being said, they really didn't leave much room for error here. I know play asia does usually package well but this game was basically the size of the shipping box so any decent corner ding would have probably resulted in some damage.
Honestly, it's hard to take your complaints seriously when your responses are full of capitalization and punctuation errors. It makes me think that you're wrong without even knowing anything else.
Your response makes me think that you're a lil goomba haircut dickhead?
That's just my experience with hundreds of transactions here and on other sites. The worse someone writes, the more likely the deal is to have issues.
My shitty writing didn't destroy the package.

My experience is the opposite. The more someone writes like am entitled that who combs thru n over ever little literary detail, the more likely they are to cause an issue in the transaction process. Either that or their writing is the only way they can convey their holier-than-thou attitude thru the internet
To be fair, Play Asia's response is no novel either. Full of "Thus" and "And" to start a sentence, formatting is all wonky...
David's note looks pretty sound to me. Dude just wanted either a refund or replacement, and they offered him next to nothing for a replacement, which is a slap in the face IMO. Whether how he said it, or it's typed for the grammar nazis is irrelevant.

To be extra fair to PA, English likely isn't exactly the respondant's first language, and I'd wager that half of it is copy-pasted.
I don't think it was bad at all, not bad enough where someone needs to point it out and be a dink about it. I know Dave uses his phone to type and it's a pain in the ass sometimes and not worth the effort to fix minute errors.
Maybe someone should start being scaryNICE instead of bein a scaryICE.
It adds to the point though, it doesn't matter if someone has a comma or period somewhere it shouldn't. The fact he was able to convey his message and they understood is all that matters here.

I assume English is a second language to the Play-Asia employee writing the messages.

True, and yeah, I had something similar to this as well, so I feel as it were a copy-paste thing.
