  • Wow. I'd lower those ratings even more now.
  • So you gonna let him know when you accept him offer?
  • Tell him yes if he can write it 100% grammatically correct
  • Maybe if they offered some kind of partial refund or replacement or something but other than that, no way.
  • It not so deal why you no accepted offer for you?
  • I wish people would try to bribe me, the public's lost its edge
  • Revise your feedback so that it informs everyone that these guys offer a $5 discount for negative feedback!   Incentives incentivize. Unintended consequences?
  • How much was the item?

Seller still has multiple units for sale if you are interested.  Of course you won’t get what is advertised. Instead of a new game and controller you get a used game only drop shipped via Amazon and a broken English run around.

Grand Theft Auto V + Xbox One S Controller

    :

    US $19.72

  • If you ever get an offer like this just know that eBay isn't set up for such a transaction.

How do you even communicate with someone like this who has been up till now unable to effectively communicate without possibly leaving yourself open to a feedback extortion case? You have to carefully word your replies and your feedback or you will give him reason to have the feedback removed by eBay and even land in hot water yourself. You can't even send your email address in an eBay message. You certainly can't ask for a gift PayPal payment in the eBay message system in return for removing a negative feedback without leaving yourself open to a feedback extortion case. Then if you somehow get a refund he will for sure send you a goods payment and then how do you protect yourself against a PayPal chargeback when you don't ship anything?

eBay has censored or removed feedback from past buyers already. These are just the feedbacks that are visible to us.

How to respond to a revision request

If a seller would like you to revise your feedback, we'll send you an email with all the details. You'll then have 10 days to either:

    • Revise the feedback – Select Accept request in the email and we'll guide you through the process of changing your rating and comment. When you revise or remove feedback, your original comments will no longer be visible on eBay
    • Decline the request – Select Decline request in the email and state your reason for doing so. If you'd like to keep your reasons private, select I don't want to share the reason with the seller

We'll send you a reminder if you haven't responded after 7 days. Revision requests expire after 10 days and the feedback won't be changed

    Tip

Once you've submitted positive feedback for a seller, you can't change it to neutral or negative feedback.

  • This is the craziest thing I've seen regarding eBay. IMHO, they should have a simple, well written policy where if this happens to you, say nothing, forward all evidence to eBay and they should take care of the rest. If this can be so rasily broken, then it demeans the value of the feedback system. This is ridiculous. There's no question this guy should be banned from the site for life.
  • No but I've had people threaten me with negative feedback on stuff that I sold if I didn't send them a partial or full refund (I ship quickly, test everything, etc). I tell them to send it back for a full refund. No partial refund BS. Everyone that I've done that to backed down.

I did provide a refund once for something that the post office destroyed but that was 1 exception in 13 years of selling
  • I got offered this once before. Think it was a really cheap phone cover from China. It wasnt the right shape was too big on one side. I left them a neutral feedback stating it didnt fit correctly. It was like a dollar shipped so I just wrote it off.

Couple days later I get almost the same message offering me $5 to edit the feedback of a $1 sale.

I just ignored it and left the feedback.

I think it has something to do with their seller metrics rating, if they get too low of a score, it costs them more to sell or they can lose the account.
  • I had this happen once a couple of years ago but I didn't bite. I paid somewhere close to $30 for Priority Mail/expedited shipping for a decent sized package (approximately 18"x10"x10") which they then shipped illegally via media mail for a couple of bucks and took their sweet time about actually getting it into the mail. Asked them for the difference back in shipping (since their material cost was basically zero given that they shipped it inside of a cut down, inside out Kohl's box), got nowhere, filed a case, they tried to fight it, ended up winning the case and leaving them their first negative explaining exactly what happened. Their offer was basically anything in their store below a certain dollar amount (I think it was $30 or so), but everything they had was crap, there was literally no way to get them to enforce that had I gone along with it, I'd have opened myself up to serious trouble with eBay, and they earned their feedback by being more than shady, so it was what it was.
  • I've had this happen to me several times, and no I did not change my feedback nor take the bribe. Something like this tells me the seller couldn't fix the order the right way so they are asking you to sweep the problem under the rug. Sleazy seller if you ask me. I'd avoid business with anyone who does that in the future.
  • that is some shady stuff there ....
  • wow that's crazy. Ive been buying and selling for years and hadn't seen this. I guess because I watch who I'm buying from like a hawk lol.
  • Wow, so they could have offered a partial refund or something, but they're waiting to see if you're actually mad about it. No negative feedback? Got away with it! Negative feedback? Ok, let's try to make it right.

"Please let me know when you accept my offer." Way to think past the sale!
  • Isn't there a way to reply to a reply? Say something like "Yeah, by "solving the problem" you mean "Bribe"."
  • I've actually got almost the same message before. I wonder if its the same seller. I feel people reach out after negative feedback to save face. Or they should if they give a shit.
  • Take his money then don't change feedback

I reach out if I get a neg or neutral because the buyer never contacted me beforehand or we would have take n care of it.

  • If $5 makes you happy enough to change your feedback, its not really a bribe. Nor is it illegal or dishonest. Its just like if you were at a restaurant & complained and you were offered a discount to smooth things over.

As a top rated seller on the verge of losing your ebay discount, it can be much cheaper to shell out a few bucks to make things right.
  • $5 is a little weak, Jandamuda needs to step up their game.
  • This guy is in India not China. Not that it matters as he doesn't own or ship anything.

He drop ships items directly from Amazon.

When you do a return because the item doesn't match the description it gets returned to Amazon.

He doesn't understand or pretends not to understand when you send him messages.

Never understood how the drop shipments would work.

What if a buyer files for a return on a new game and then sends him back a used Madden 06?

eBay processes the return and refund and then Amazon does what to him?

Denies the return and charges him or closes his account?

Seems like a lot of hassles for a buck here and there

    What a mess.
  • Someone didn't like my 2-star Amazon review and reached out to me about it this morning (FB Messenger). He didn't offer me anything, of course, but he wanted to tell me that he thought it was a little harsh for a problem that doesn't affect everyone.

They claimed to be working on a revision that fixes the issue. In my review I clearly stated that I'd revise it to 5-stars when they fixed but, obviously, I have to rate what it is and not what they promise it will be. The review was mostly positive but I needed to make sure people saw the serious concern before buying it.

It's still a serious problem that affects a huge portion of their potential customers. People will buy this product specifically for the purpose it isn't suited for (incompatible replacement). Even the people it does work for will likely be in for a rude awakening when many encounter the problem in the future. It's important that they hear about the flaw before buying it.

Honestly, I would have done 2.5 stars if the Amazon app allowed it but I rounded down. I revised it and rounded up to 3 stars, since it is the only review for a product that I genuinely hope is successful. Pity bump, since it seems they did everything right in product development/testing and their MFG partner dropped the ball after it went into production. When the problem is fixed I'll revise it again.
  • Not on ebay but on yelp. Contractor offered 20% discount on future work. Well I was supposedly getting a discount the first time, but since they refused to itemize anything there is no way to know.
