Show off your Sticker Seal CIB's

Given the recent sale of a sealed SMB sticker seal for over 100k I felt it was important to create a thread/discussion on sticker seal CIB's in general.  Overall I feel they are not appreciated given the difficulty of finding really nice boxes with games and manual.   What are your thoughts on sticker seal CIB's?  The irony is you have a better chance in my opinion of finding a nice oval seal factory sealed SMB than a nice  SMB sticker seal CIB as an example.  Show them off!!!

  • These are dope and thanks for starting the thread. Sealed oval/white seal SMBs that are plentiful still go for 2 to 3 times a CIB sticker?

I just don't think exorbitantly high prices for a sealed game necessarily creates a rise in a CIB... I mean, c'mon Sam it's a CIB!
  • shouldn't a sticker seal be NIB?????

Sticker sealed is the variant (early print run). These are opened sticker seal games. CIB in nice condition, they are still super nice collectibles, although maybe not worth $100,000
  • So are these worth $100,000 too?

Let's think about this as we are talking about an extremely small window in which these sticker seal's were produced vs. many years and millions of copies later of other versions.  These sticker seals were opened, trashed by kids for the most part as were all games mostly but again not as many produced.  Games like SMB, MB, DK-all, Popeye and Duck Hunt were the go-to for kids that parents bought in addition to the other titles.  I do feel there is a collectible and market disconnect for these CIB's that may close as people come to realize how hard they are and with a growing hobby.  I was on instagram the other day and I saw a sealed duck hunt graded where the collector posted a point where we have to appreciate items as not everyone can get the best as there are not many around

I mean you can just call me Jone instead of "the collector"...

I think the sticker insanity is overblown personally but I've got at least 8 to 10 myself. Hit a Donkey Kong last week and pretty happy about that since my old copy was a later print with touch ups. Thanks buyatari for that one, was a good placeholder for a decade or so!
  • This one kills me...Per Wata it’s the nicest sticker seal they’ve seen, next to Brontys SMB. They believe it had only been opened once, fucking ONCE! That is an expensive mistake.

Thank you jedisam for the hook up!

First print is first print and will always be the most desirable. I totally get the fascination and appreciate that these never had any protection on them. Incredibly hard to find in decent condition. Let alone mint.

  • Well let me step into my Dorito's powered time machine, er... let me go down to my basement...

Here's a nice one for you.  Sealed and minty mint!

But you want to see something that will make you cry... I bought an entire collection like this one.  They are SUPER MINT and the original Matte Sticker Seal, They were opened so gingerly there is no damage where the sticker was lifted.  They stuck the sticker seal to the inside of the flap so it's all there in perfect shape.  Unpunched hangtab and all contents bagged and unopened inside.  That's an expensive lift of a sticker...

  • Nice looking stickers all around   <3
  • erik comes here and murders fools.
  • My DK Math has some sticker seal sex

Okay folks, that’s it. Shut it down.  Black Boxy done broke the internet.

  • Nice. Thanks for sharing.
  • Erik, the OG variant collector before variant collecting was cool. Glad I've at least poached a few things off you over the years!

On the left side of the case. Am I looking at like 10 of each Black Box? Holy smokes.

Well, almost. The guy is a total poser! He only has 5 mint DK maths in there, one Big Box Gyromite, and one Stack-Up.

He could at least use his less-than-mint copies as filler like the rest of us.

(P.S. I love how the shelf is literally collapsing under its own black box weight....also, yellow hair troll variant confirmed!)

  • Maybe this is a good thread to ask this in. So here's my oldest Mario, from a crazy lot of FAO Schwarz-stickered, circle-seal games I got about 10 years ago. Sadly, the sticker itself was ripped and stuck back on the top of the box at some point, but this to me looks like a matte sticker, yes? It doesn't leave the VOID underneath.
