Well, I tried my hand at Adventure Island earlier, and it kicked my ass. I got as far as Level 7-1, but I was stuck on it for two hours until I gave up.

To console myself, I beat Kickle Cubicle.
You really don't know the pain until you lose your weapon on 8-2 and 8-4... and those jumps at the end of 8-3 are some of the worst on the NES. It took me hours even with infinite continues. Fun game though.
Fairly challenging game until you get the hang of it, but not too bad. Not as grueling as Robocop 2, despite limited continues. Plus it's a really short game.
Speaking of Robocop 2, the game grew on me a lil bit the more I played it. I still don't consider it a good game, but it's playable.
This game has really grown on me over the years, even though it's terrible. The catchy music probably helps. I'd like to beat the Famicom version someday, which is even harder - I know there's a way to grind infinite lives (albeit very slowly).
Legendary Wings is done. It's another first-time completion for me. This is such a beautiful game, and it might be in the running for best shooter on the platformer if they hadn't been so lazy about making the bosses exactly the same on every level.
In the last couple weeks I beat Solmon's Key (good ending) and Legacy of the Wizard. Both exceptionally good games.
Legacy of the Wizard is a really awesome game. Loved that one too.
It ate up way more of my February than I was hoping it would, but I finally finished Bases Loaded 4 tonight. Might be the longest I've had to spend on an NES game to finish it and also among the least enjoyable. Fortunately that means I'm done all 4 games in the series on the NES now so I'll never have to play any of them again, horaay!
Nice going Crabmaster! I'm mentally preparing for the days I see Bases Loaded 2 and 4 come up on my list. The first game took me about two months to play.
I'll be dusting off the Power Pad for my next game, Street Cop.

Bases Loaded 3 was a refreshing change of pace because all 3 of the others are a loooooooong slog. I found 4 to be the hardest of them too as I couldn't find a way to reliably trick the AI so I had a lot more losses/resets than the first 2 games.
Looking forward to your thoughts on Street Cop. It's a super interesting game and once you get a hang of the unique controls I think it's pretty fun.
Bad News Baseball and Star Wars are both done. Bad News Baseball was indeed Bad News, but I really liked Star Wars a lot more than I thought I would. I was under the impression this was generally perceived as a bad game, but it was a lot of fun.

Dirty Harry is done. Whew! Still gotta go back and make a video for my blog, but it shouldn't take long now that I know exactly what to do.
Well done! That first stage is so confusing, really bizzare game.

Wow, Solomon's Key with good ending is quite a feat.
Sadly haven't had much time to play Dragons Lair lately, but I'll perhaps find more time next week.
Beat Twin Cobra. Picked this up yesterday. It's a fun game even though it's by Micronics. Way easier than the Genesis version.
We played it for the contests in 2017. It's not bad at all. Probably the best Micronics port. The gameplay reminds me of Raiden.

It's definitely a competent port. It's fun for sure. Still a bit choppy but nowhere near as bad as 1942 or Tiger Heli.

I don't think it's a bad game. A bit brutal at times.
