Have a conversation with this best friend of yours and lay down some ground rules. He can come around your new friends if he doesn't bring his negative attitude. If he insists on being negative or has an I don't care attitude then tell him you will either hang out with him separate from the group or just cut ties with him all together. This is just apart of life. Like others have said years from now he and your GF will probably be gone. What usually happens is over time priority changes. My friends from middle school and high school all have families now and have very little time to hang out. Just the way it is.
