1999 Walmart Exclusive DK Day Donkey Kong 64 Store poster
Hello everybody. I'm a Donkey Kong collector and I always look for rare and strange items of the famous Gorilla.
Recently I bought online a lot of old posters/merchandise from USA and I could find a strange poster of Donkey Kong 64 I've never seen before.
It seems to be an exclusive poster realized for Walmart. The strange thing I noticed is that it says "This Saturday in the home entertainment department".
I was thinking about that and I remembered that years ago there was a sort of internal document sheet from the marketing division of Walmart talking about the Donkey Kong 64 demo kiosk.
On that document they were giving instructions on how to expose the DK64 Display kiosk and they talked about the "DK DAY" at Walmart, the day in which people could play the 3-level kiosk demo of DK64 in preview. The DK day they talked about on the document was Saturday November 13 of 1999.
So I assume this is a poster used in the stores during the Walmart DK64 promotional campaing to promote THE DK DAY and not for the sale of the game itself.
That's the reason why it's different from a regular DK64 store dispay. It has the Walmart logo and it's official by Rareware and Nintendo.
On this lot I could find 2 of these. One is mine and I will keep it for myself since I'm a collector but maybe there's somebody interested in this poster. It's a great addition to the extremely rare and valuable DK64 kiosk demo. Consider that I collect DK stuff since 2005 and it's the first time I see this one.
Let me know if someone can be interested. I published it here before putting it on eBay. I attach some photos

Collecting DK stuff was something I tried to do for so long. It's a really hard thing to do. Expensive items, just a bit less expensive then Zelda items
