The controls are supposed to be much worse than the Simpsons games though, right? I heard few things tops Swamp Thing.
I didn't have too much trouble with the controls, but like I said I grew up with Bart vs. The World so it felt fine to me. Bart seems much more slippery. I'd say maybe Darkman, RoboCop 2 and Treasure Master are games I've played with more challenging controls off the top of my head.
There was an annoying thing I didn't notice until the boss fights though where when you punch when you are moving forward your character stops dead in his tracks. Meant I had to get super close with my jump before trying to attack. Good news is you very rarely have to punch anything since it's far easier to just avoid enemies.
pro wrestling is done, on a personal note i've now finished all nes wrestling games
What's your favorite one?
i'd say tecmo world wrestling with pro wrestling a close second, i'm like the only person that never watched wwf growing up so those games didn't really do anything for me

I've barely played any of the wrestling games yet. Think the only ones so far are Pro Wrestling and Tag Team Wrestling. Like you I didn't care about wrestling growing up. Tons of my friends tried to get me into it over the years though. Just don't see the appeal. I do like Hulk Hogan movies though......
Great job on Bases Loaded II. Those games are the biggest slogs on the system imo.

i was able to play through it a little quicker than the first one but no real enjoyment aside from finishing
Fist time I've been able to do two in one night for quite a while. Got Dragon Warrior and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes both finished today. Happy to have finally played Dragon Warrior even though I spent 99% of it grinding. Very poorly paced game even by 1980s standards, but cool to see more of the roots of a genre I love. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes was just awful. Only saving grace was it is super short.
Damn I am almost finished with dragon warrior as well, just have to go kill the dragon lord. You planning on doing any of the others?
That stinks when your so close and someone snatches the victory from you! I've had it happen a few times this year too. The rest are all yours, I think the next RPG I'm going to hit is AD&D Pool of Radiance.
I usually try and broadcast when I'm playing something that might take me awhile, just in case. Of course I'm gonna play whatever I'm gonna play anyway, but I'm happy to let someone else take the points especially if they started first.
This game's a favorite of mine. Just beat it on "eagle", which is the lowest but default difficulty. "Ultimate" difficulty gives the best ending, which I have done before, but it's pretty brutal especially if you are out of practice.

Have you played S.C.A.T. yet? Those are very similar games, and it seems like most people prefer that one.
Finished dragon warrior 2. Great game, albeit a bit grindy...
Compared to the first, it's not at all grindy. If you want to talk grindy, I just beat 7th Saga on SNES a few weeks ago. I did use Kamil, who's considered to be a terrible character, but still.
I've also been going back to the Evil Within pn PS4 and getting 100% of the trophies on that. And now I have Sekiro coming out this Friday to play, but I will get back to NES stuff at some point...

Totally agree. 95% of Dragon Warrior was just grinding. Very little else going on there. I'm pumped to Sekiro too, can't wait to get my copy!

Pretty solid shmup. Definitely has that early classic Capcom feel and sound. I had to hand map out the layout of the game.

I've beaten this game before (all 3 quests). I like it for it's ambition and uniqueness. A bit of an underrated title, IMO.

Next up is Boulder Dash!
idk if it has already been done but whatever
Decided to take out Burai Fighter tonight.
