Only good to come out of that song was Mena Suvari in the music video.

What a pile... I saw them perform that live up in PA when that single was just released. Some idiot was crowdsurfing during that song and broke his neck. Of all the shows to injure yourself at...

    Challenge accepted

    Edit: actually, not gonna derail

You have to at least wait until page 5 to derail.

Also, the words "Iron Maiden" appear in that song so it is impossible that it is the worst song ever.

  • I hate weezer almost as much as I love KHan.
  • I wonder if every single poll will get some 0/10 votes. Most likely empire trying to skew the numbers in Linkin Park's favor

Probably people who just don't like them but don't read your description.

5 for me. Don't really like 'em or hate them.
  • My favorite band of all time so naturally a 10/10 from me.

My comment had nothing to do with their covers, and I certainly wouldn't put them in the same league as Nirvana.

I was referring to what music was popular at middle school dances in 1994 to be part of the primary rotation.

Haha to be honest I didn't read one comment anyone posted.  I just posted my thought.

I was mostly referring to this.  I heard it wrong but I had to look it up.  This is so mind boggling because as a huge Nirvana fan, I have never heard a Weezer song that REMOTELY sounds like a Nirvana song harmonically.

"The Encyclopedia of Pop is a three-ring binder filled with charts created by Rivers Cuomo in 1999. It documents and dissects every song written by Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, as well as songs by Oasis and Green Day, in a mathematical manner. According to Todd Sullivan, Weezer's A&R man, "(Rivers) figured if he could home in on Kurt's formula, he'd figure out his own formula. That way, he would be a never-ending supply of songs."

Now you can love him and hate him at the same time. See if you can spot him in this tribute by the Flying W's.

^ This beats it, IMO, by a lot.

That song is fucking awesome, reminds me a lot of Captain Beefheart.

    It's super complex too.

If Teenage Dirtbag is a 1 that song is an easy 10.
  • Yeah, no way is that the worst song ever. There's quite a lot going on even if you hate it. Definitely reminds me of Beefheart as well in a good way.

I'll give Weezer a 6/10. The Blue Album is great, the rest is meh to very bad.

You sir, have never heard the My Sharona cover by The Number Twelve Looks Like You.

  • I've been mentioned way too much in this thread.

Everyone who says nothing good came after Maladroit is an idiot. Everything Will Be Alright in the End is their second or third best album. And White is easily in their top 5.

That being said, Raditude, half of Pacific Daydream, and most of Black album is hot garbage.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

An idiot? I said I didnt like their stuff after maladroit. Im sure there were good songs. I gave up on them. But you just said they are an idiot, but then name 3 albums post maladroit that are indeed you call hot garbage? which is it? i just said they went downhill. Sounds like even from a current fan they are still downhill since then.

Counterpoint: I actually think there's some really good stuff on Raditude. I think all 3 albums you mentioned are about 50/50 to be honest.

How many albums after Maladroit are there? 9.

And then I gave two specific albums that came out post-Maladroit that are in their top 5.

I apologize for offending you. I've just read the tired "everything after Pinkerton sucks" argument for 20 years. It's just not true.

And I was calling nameless people who I've talked to and read from over the past decade idiots. No one in this thread. I should make that clear.

that takes me back... I actually loved their cover... but then again I was also a fan. Strange times.

Uncle. My Sharona was awful, Yes We Can was truly terrible, but I still thought "eh, I'd still rather hear this than Teenage Dirtbag." for each. But this train wreck got me Youtubing Teenage Dirtbag like a breath of fresh air.

Who and what 5 bands would that be?

Certainly isn't me guy, I listen to an incredibly wide range of music as I actually play and would like to be as influenced by as many styles as possible. My musical interests span like 500 years worth of musical styles from pre-classical baroque to 90s rock/grunge.

  • Bait taken.

    Guy.

You'd think any student of 90s rock would recognize Blue and Pinkerton though

FIVE HUNDRED YEARS WORTH OF MUSICAL STYLES

For what it's worth I remember the Brokencyde song from when it came out because I remember people debating if it was one of the worst songs ever.
