I want to thank all of you for the sincere motivation, it's been outstanding. My mind is made up, Subway night incoming for the win! As I said in another thread, their Tuna on Italian Herbs N Cheese w/Prov is where it's at.
I guess I don't get it? I go and get the oven-roasted chicken (which, yeah, is like 2% chicken) on flatbread with all the veggies and it's a great sandwich. I can see someone saying "eh, I prefer fresher meat" or preferring a different sammich place, but wow, some of you would literally rather eat garbage!
The 5-dollar footlong was definitely the golden age of Subway though. Sandwiches are among the most basic of lunches. Are you a poor college student? Then buy a loaf of bread and some sandwich meat. Sandwiches for days. It's like ramen noodles. Pay ten bucks for a plate of hot wings with a side of fries? Sure! Pay ten bucks for a SANDWICH? Naw man.

I feel like I heard a thing a few years ago where it came out that the "5 Dollar Footlong" was like 10". And when asked about the false advertising Subway was like "we never said it was 12 inches... Footlong is just what that sandwich is CALLED." Am I making this up?

Yeah, that was the intial response. The subsequent class action lawsuit was even crazier. Subway had to conduct a study on their sandwich making process to prove in court that they did average 12 inches, but admitted that it could vary. They ended up paying over half a million for the suit, and it ended up being thrown out because most of the money went to the lawyers.
Funny you say that, I tell this to my co-workers all the time, literally the only reason to go to Subway anymore are the cookies. They should just become a cookie shop and get rid of their nasty sandwiches.
Just like BouncekdeLemos, Subway really tickles my pickle. These are my 2 personal favorites, sometimes I mix and match the ingredients, and sometimes i just get somethin else entirely:
Footlong Spicy Italian on 9-grain wheat, spinach, tomato, onions, sometimes cucumbers and banana or jalapeno peppers, Chipotle southwest sauce, parmesan, and pepper. Sometimes Toasted.
or
Footlong Meatball Marinara on 9-grain wheat, spinach, tomato, onions, Ranch, Sriracha, parmesan and pepper. Sometimes toasted.
Used to be 12 inch italian, herb and cheese with american cheese, turkey, and salami. Toasted. Then olives and an ungodly amount of mayo.
Now that I can stand to eat vegetables...and have various diet restrictions...it's a 12 inch (if I'm really hungry, sometimes I just eat half and save the rest for dinner or lunch tomorrow) italian, herb and cheese with cold cuts (mainly because the place I go to has a deal for $1.99 6 inch cold cuts), no cheese. Toasted. Then lettuce, cucumber, olives, onions, pickles, a little bit of light mayo and pepper.
It's actually pretty good...more flavorful then just plain turkey (which I usually get when I go to a Subway that doesn't have that $1.99 deal) and the veggies taste great in the sandwich.
My go-to has been chicken breast on the Italian herb and cheese bread, with lettuce, tomato, green peppers, onions, jalapeños, and a combination of chipotle southwest and buffalo sauces.

Who's all with me?!?!?
I had Subway yesterday out of necessity and blech... I may be dying, bois.
Their subs vary from place to place. Some places know how to make a sub and some don't. I dislike it when they over toast.
Subway cookies are good
Yeah?

I should sue them for the fact you only "borrow" their sandwiches for 5 minutes before returning them into the toilet
I should sue you for not having your permit to carry those guns.
