I avoid trailers like the plague. I've successfully watched every Star Wars without seeing one, so I have no idea what to expect. I prefer mystery and surprise.
Ughhhhhh. You can't cheapen death by bringing people back from the dead. That makes "epic lightsaber duels" super-duper boring because what's gonna happen? Is someone going to DIE??? Eh it's cool, they can come back.
I know that's part of Star Wars canon or whatever, but I don't give Star Wars movies a pass to have bad writing just because they're Star Wars.

Honestly, I'm tired of superhero and Star Wars movies. (Is there much difference between superhero and Star Wars anyway?)
When it comes to pop culture like this, I realize now there is no such thing as "canon". If it makes money, they'll do it. I guess I'm just not that much of a "fan", and well, I'm glad about that. While I did see the last two Star Wars movies, I honestly don't remember much about them, and personally say they don't hold a candle to the original series. Will I see this one? If my friends drag me, then sure. I like hanging out with my friends, but still don't care about the next superhero/starwars/greenscreen release.
I didnt see the last one or solo at the theatre but I did pick them up when they came out on 4k. I liked Rogue One the best of the last 3 movie. I'm just burnt out on Star Wars movies in general but call me if they make a bounty hunter movie with Boba Fett, IG-88, Bossk, and Greedo.

Yeah, yeah. They can appear and smile all they want. If all Palpatine does is laugh menacingly, then that's fine in my book. But I'm betting he won't.
It's just the one-upping that annoys me. What's the worst thing that can happen to the good guy? He gets KILLED! Hmmmmm, then what's the most shocking thing that could happen next? HE'S NOT DEAD!! Now what can top that? Hmmmm, oh no, now there's a way to KILL someone who has died and come back as a ghost!!! Whadda ya bet? But that level of intensity was supposed to be the thing that made dying in the first place such a big deal.
How are people burnt out? I just dont understand how something every 1-2 years that takes up 2 hours of time in your 365 day year is that big a deal? Im not tired of them at all. We had solo last may which barely even counts. Will be 2 years since the last real one when this comes out.
Maybe im just not really affected by the mass marketing? I just dont react negatively when i see it. It just doesnt affect me. I might laugh when its a kilo ren themed toaster or something ridiculous but i dont know. I guess i dont take the mass marketing that seriously. I like star wars. Id rather have decent not great movies every year or 2 then none at all.
Reminds me of when people get upset that a show is still running and they wish it ended in a prior season. Just dont watch if its that big a deal.

Star Wars is a super effective, arguably brilliant, marketing campaign. Same thing goes for all the Marvel movies.
Why are people "burnt out"? Because even though I have no interest in it, you can't help but hear about that shite ALL THE TIME!! Seriously, no matter where you go, people act as if it's a big deal. Hey, don't get me wrong, to each their own. If you want to live and breath Star Wars, go for it. I'm just tired of having it be omnipresent. From NPR to the BBC to the tiny little newspaper your neighborhood publishes. No one claims we're losing sleep over the Star Wars/superhero marketing, but more and more people are tired of it. Also, I think movies used to be way more exciting than they are now, because we're so oversaturated with information and hype about so-and-so movie -- again, brilliant marketing by the brainwashers at Disney. Basically, they make you believe the movie will be great even before you see it, and for the most part, it's quite effective .
And, there's a big difference between "brainwashing" and "corrupting". Kids have long been "brainwashed" to purchase toys for decades, a great example is Nintendo "Now You're Playing with Power" blah blah... but Disney has taken it to a whole new level.
All that said, the stories are shit in my opinion, which is what annoys more than anything. Personal opinion if that needs be said.

It's a series of movies intended for kids that adults happen to take overly seriously. People are gonna have a problem every time with SOMETHING. I'm with you - not burnt out at all, and looking forward to this next one.
If you're burnt out just move on with your life. Do something else.
I cannot wait to see what the implications of that Palpatine laugh are. That could mean so many different things.
I was one of the people who did thoroughly enjoy both The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi (fight me) so I'm super excited to see what they do with this one. I'm planning on having sort of a marathon of all the previous Star Wars movies before seeing this one in theaters. So that makes 3 movies I'm hyped for this year; Avengers: Endgame, Joker, and The Rise of Skywalker. Brilliant name by the way, not at all what I was expecting but I like it. Return, Revenge, Rise. Has a nice ring to it, plus much like the Palpatine laugh, that could have a lot of different implications, there's like half a dozen meanings you could take from The Rise of Skywalker. Which Skywalker you talkin' about?
So, Spoke is all alive and well. Just what I thought, can't wait.
Pretty sure that was Emperor Palpatine.
Yeah, regardless of whether or not Snoke is in this movie (Which at this point I'm fairly sure he isn't) that was 100% a classic Emperor Palpatine laugh, not to mention the fact that Ian frickin' McDiarmid was on-stage when this trailer was shown which, at least to me, more or less confirms that he does actually play a role in the plot in one form or another.

To even further the point, how can 2 hours out of your life every couple years burn you out of anything?
People just wanna biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch and moan and bitch and moan about eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeverything. The part that annoys me the most is that 90% of the people who are positive about things don't say anything at all, ever.
While I'm not bitching about how many titles are coming out, I understand where people might be coming from. Sometimes less is more, you know? Would you be more psyched for a new Assassin's Creed if they had only made 2 over the last decade? Would you be less excited for a new Zelda if they released a brandnew mainline entry every year?

well games arent really the same thing at all. They take way longer to make, and they also usually would take up hours and hours of your time vs 2 of your 8700+ hours in 2 years. So is a new star wars movie less special? yeah a little, but cmon. 2 years between a mainline entry isnt some short amount of time. the original trilogy came out in 77,80,83. So 3 years apart back then, and they didnt have the tech we have today. Main reason lucas said he didnt make 1,2,3 sooner. Ep 1 2 3 were also huge undertakings and were 3 years apart 99,02,03. So this is pretty normal. The only difference is they made some side projects in between.
I'm trying to think of a series of "shorter" games that fatigued itself, but can't come up with anything that's a perfect example. Castlevanias circa the tailend of the DS lifespan? Metroidvanias in general? Tell me that people aren't tired of that genre being oversaturated recently. And many of those are only 5 hours long.
I also do think that Star Wars fatigue could possibly explain the Solo movie under performing. Among other reasons.
Again, not speaking from my own views. Hell, I used to read all of those Star Wars books back in the '90s, so I was obviously hungering for as many stories as I could get. But I have heard this from a number of people.

I really think those people just hear it from somewhere else, and people like to think they have original ideas and are different and just regurgitate. So they just repeat cliche things. Its cool to hate/pretend to hate star wars.

It's easy to dismiss others opinions as the bolded when you don't like what they have to say.
As someone who loved SW growing up, the Disney movies, IMO, are straight up garbage. You want to talk about a lack of originality? How about watching a remade "A New Hope" as the first Disney SW movie? I mean, come on now, even you can't deny TFA was a clone
As for games take less time to make - entirely debatable.
There's a new Call of Duty every year like clockwork, though I doubt they're remaking their engines from scratch each iteration. In that instance, sure. For most other games, they generally take longer than a year to make, so they're about the same amount of time as a movie.
From pre-production to post production is just under a year and a half.
As for SW burn outs:
TFA: 2015
Rogue One: 2016
TLJ: 2017
Solo: 2018
Skywalker: 2019
That's 1 SW movie a year for the last 5 years! Of course people are going to get sick of hearing about a new Star Wars (on top of the other gripes that people have with the direction of the new movies).
If you enjoy the new stuff, that's great. If you don't, that's cool too.
That being said, the trailer looked okay. JJ is directing it, so I expect a lot of unoriginality in it, and it having more plot holes.
To your point on call of duty. I dont really play them besides black ops or a campaign years later. I mean they arent my favorite thing so i ignore them. Hearing about it, and people liking or hating them doesnt affect me.
Something even once a year(solo barely even counts in the case of star wars) getting burnt out sounds weird to me. Call of duty is something you play for hours. A movie is s 2 hour sit down. Just entirely different.
You get burnt out on stuff like food, eating the same thing each day or multiple times a month. But a movie once in a year? And incase of the main movies 2 years?

Andy Serkis plays Snoke in SW 8
Andy Serkis is in SW 9, either Snoke is alive and predicted his death as he said in SW 8 or he is Emperor Palpatine
So do they just get drunk and stoned in the street playin space?
That is how we got the plot of Last Jedi.
Just not excited with them pumping these out every year. Will still go see it at some point though.

I did just watch "Us". Not as good as Peele's last movie in my opinion, but entertaining and well done.
