What are you NOT collecting?

I was watching the Youtube clip of the dude with like 50+ consoles set up at once and it got me thinking... There are many consoles I just don't touch. I guess I'm kinda a straight edge nostaligic Nintendo/Sega/PlayStation/PC Windows+DOS kinda guy... What are you not collecting right now??

played as a kid/adult, but never felt the desire to collect for:

Sega Saturn

Sega CD

Sega Dreamcast

GameBoy Color

PS2

To this day I've never touched:

3DO

TurboGrafx

NeoGeo

Sega Master System

Atari

Commodore

Intellevision

Vectrex

Odyssey

Virtual Boy

Nomad

Current stuff (I guess after the original XBOX I really don't have any nostalgia for/stopped playing):

XBOX 360

GameCube

PS3, PS4

PSP

DS/3DS

Wii

Switch

  • I'm not collecting anything that isnt:

    Atari

    NES/Fami

    SNES/SuFami

    Genesis/SMS

    N64

    Gamecube

    Wii/U

    Switch

    GB/C/A

    N/3/DS

    PS1/2/3/4

    PSP

    Vita

    PC/DOS
  • Anything that isn't:

    Atari {2600, 5200, 7800}

    INTV

    NES/Famicom

    Oddball older consoles and clones
  • Anything that comes on a disk.
  • I collect information on everything...but physically, I only collect things from mid to late '80s and early to mid '90s.
  • Nothing Xbox or Playstation or anything older than NES. No point
  • I'm not buying anything at all anymore. But I own a few titles for the following:

nes SNES, n64, gamecube, ds, 3ds, gbc, gba, wii, switch, ps2 tg16.

    i have ever drives for:

nes, SNES, n64, gba, tg16, genesis

We only have tapes that myself or my wife play/had growing up, sold everything else or in the process of selling. If we don't already own it then we don't want it.

Any console we don't own is because neither of us have any interest in it/ library sucks. The only reason we even have any n64 still is because I might regret selling my original games, but they haven't been touched in years. Anything pre nes is junk, I barely keep nes out of that category. Xbox and anything playstation that isn't ps2 is of no interest. Wiiu junk.

Already checked there, definitely not in the couch.
  • Specifically, video game tat, cardboard and paper, anything Playstation.

Generally, I do my best to keep my purchasing focused on stuff I might actually want to play/use. The only system I'm actively buying games that I don't intend to play is N64 because I want the fullset. As a whole I TRY not to collect for collecting's sake, but there are always bits and bobs that slip through the cracks of that ideal!

    It fell behind the TV.
  • Anything thats not games or systems/controllers. Dont mess with paper, manuals, boxes, keychains, toys or signs.
  • I'm surprised no one has said it so I'll say it: Amiibos

I sell every one I find.
  • I'm pretty much done with current gen and beyond. I've had enough.

Nah, good idea but I just checked and that's a no go too. It's been missing for a few weeks now. It's looking grim

Would help to see a picture of the room. Do you ever leave the room with the remote?

Have you got kids? If so, check their toy boxes. Of course, once you add kids to the equation it could truly be anywhere...
  • Modern games, anything from the 2000s. Too many sequels, interactive movies, endless sprawling open worlds of busywork, grindy gameplay loops. I can't get excited looking at a wall of 15 hour long Xbox 360 games where you follow the quest marker to the next cut scene. Just not my preferred form of entertainment.

Same. I just can't trust them. I could be 3min from the beating the game and all of a sudden it crashes from some micro scratch I didnt see

  • Anything that isn't NES games, games I think will increase in value soon, and prototypes.
  • I only buy the games I will play on NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64. With a few Gamecube and Playstation1/2 games thrown in.
  • I'll buy anything if the price is right
  • If it's not Nintendo, I'm not collecting it.
  • The only thing collecting right now are my games. And that is dust. But I must not collect more. :-)

Empire stole it. It's at his house.
  • Not collecting anything non-Nintendo, and not Wii or Wii U.
  • Anything that I didn't play as a child or that I do not have nostalgia for I buy the system and an everdrive or some sort of flash drive.

I only buy stuff that I want to play, I don't buy/keep rare games just because they're rare.
  • Anything on a home console, and anything newer than the fifth "generation" according to Wikipedia. If it's old and portable, yes.
  • Anything that is not Nintendo related..
  • I collect just about everything except handhelds atari and turbo grafix. Not interested in portable gaming. Anything before the nes is just to archaic for me even though I played it back then. I had a turbo when it came out and other then a few games I just think the snes and genesis did 16 bit better.
