Eh, screw San Jose. Sincerely. They've been the beneficiary of way too many sketchy calls/no calls in their favor this post season.
And despite all of their good fortune, they're STILL sore sports and cry babies. Into the 3rd period of game 5, after the game had been decided, Haley and Kane decide to get themselves tossed like little bitches. Roughing, game misconduct, deliberately interfering with Binnington, and then slashing. Fuck the Sharks
Oh, you shush. Tell your Blueballs to stop hitting high and they may not have guys going after them.
Lol, ANNND San Jose cries to the press. Couture complaining about a trivial high hit back in Game 3 (which was GIFTED to them via an illegal hand pass) which somehow had any bearing on how Game 5 was officiated?! Give me a break.
League Player Safety Dept. just ruled that no further discipline required for Barbashev. They've reviewed the tape and came to the same conclusion as everyone who isn't a Sharks fan. Hertl is 10ply

Blues really do play hard man when I was watching the game last night I had to kind of stop and think to myself "Jesus man these guys are just DRILLin em"
Berube must just be telling em to go out and HAMMER em just like he used to do back in the day.

Yes, they should have caught that hand pass. It wouldn't have mattered if their guys were in position though.
Haley's a cementhead idiot. He's also the same guy that decided to go after a goalie in the Pens/Isles brawl back in the day.
Refs missed world's most obvious puck over glass the same game 3.
Cooch's mention of the Game 3 non-called high hit was in reference to the same thing they let go in game 5, and that the Sharks should start laying on random Blues in game 6.
The officiating overall this post season has left a lot to be desired. Sharks should have been out golfing the last few weeks after Vegas was gifted a power play in the second OT of game 6 (suddenly calling a penalty that they had been letting go all of OT), but then the Hertl breakaway that the "World's Best Goalie" (TM) couldn't stop.
Also, I hope Erik Karlsson heads to Tampa or somewhere in the offseason.

I'd be willing to bet that the rules on "reviewable plays" get modified or expanded following this year's conclusion.
Karlsson looks like he's about had it for this season. Nothing official but it definitely appears to be a groin injury.

Yeah, pretty sure he's done.
And I'm guessing you'll at least see reviews on 5 minute majors, and maybe expanded goal reviews of some sort. I do like what Brind'Amour suggested (leave 1 ref and 1 linesman on the ice and have the other ref and linesman in the penalty box watching a monitor), but it'll never happen.
Yeah I figured he was done after that first shitty defensive play he made that lead to the first Blues goal but I guess they thought keeping him out there all game was worth it regardless.
Was making some "Ahhh fuck" faces on the bench the entire game too I'd be really surprised if he plays next game.

Shitty defensive play? I credit him with the assist!

Not as good as the Jones assist on the second goal. Yeesh.

After Vlad's penalty shot, that game was a wrap. lol
It was a fun game for me to watch, but couldn't have been very entertaining to the broader audience.
Well this series beats the shit out of the Boston/Canes series that's for sure that was a straight up sleeper other than Williams getting wound up a bit.
Hopefully Game 6 is just as entertaining, I wouldn't mind seeing a good ol scrap especially after last game or someone tuggin on Burns' beard at least.

Opening faceoff scrap like Thornton/Getzlaf way back when?

Hahaha I can't remember what started that but it's pretty funny watching two guys that would play together on Team Canada drop the gloves like that....But then again it's hockey and I'm not surprised.
Its weird how rabid people are in San Jose for the Sharks, especially because Hockey isnt that big out here. Guess its because its the only sport the south bay has. I see some crazy sharks neck tattoos from time to time, on gentlemen you would NOT expect to be hockey fans. More like deive by fans.
I was leaning towards Boston too but I dont know man, Blues are going to give them a run for their money......I could see this thing going 7 games right down to the wire.

I think they're gonna get out-physicaled by Boston, but Binnington may be able to steal a couple.
Yeah, but the wildcards they beat had dispatched the President's Trophy winners and the reigning Stanley Cup champs, so it's not like those Wildcards were pushovers (or shouldn't have been; looking at you Carolina)
I personally think Boston will be able to match up with St. Louis's style of play better than anybody the Blues have faced so far.
But with both goalies pretty hot, could be a very low scoring long brutal series.
I'm actually talking myself more and more into watching it.
I suspect these games are going to get pretty physical and I will be looking forward to that big time.
Low scoring games don't bother me too much as long as there is a lot of action going on, the most boring games are just the constant back and forth tennis match type shit where it just goes end to end for 60 mins with nobody having a lot of offensive time.
Like you guys said both goalies are playing unreal so I think we are going to see lots more big saves as opposed to big goals which I'm fine with too.

No surprise there.
Nope. The Blues have been on fire this entire calendar year.
At least the Sharks didn't wilt like they did in game 5, just didn't have enough.

It was definitely a hard fought game wire to wire. Sharks made a great push in the 3rd but Binny somehow was able to keep the puck in front.

Tuukka is looking pretty tough these days though.
The toughest team they've faced so far was Toronto and the Leafs took them to 7 games.
If Binny stays hot, I like the Blues' chances.
