10 min into the 2nd period
  • Boston getting lots of chances in the 2nd, could tie er up especially if they get another chance on the power play.

....Speak of the devil another PP for Boston.
  • Yup can't be giving them too many power plays they are going to score on them.
  • Yeah, sloppy play by the Blues in the 2nd. Tighten it up in the 3rd and we could still snag a road win
  • Penalties kill momentum, you cannot take 4 in 2 periods on the road
  • Nope even for the Blues who have an excellent road record so far.

Seems like Boston found their legs a bit after the 1st after not having played for 10 days, they have been the better team tonight for sure.
  • Good action so far!
  • That empty netter will do it. Good game, this series will be just as intense as we all expected
  • Yeah that was a good ol hockey game.
  • I hope you guys watched that one tonight. Hell of a game. Hard hitting all night, Blues dominated the puck for most of it.

    All even, 1 game each!
  • I'm glad to see other hockey fans here! I'm a Preds fan, so it was a sad end to the season for me, but these playoffs have been a ride.
  • Rangers fan here. Glad this dumpster fire of a year is over. Thought this was gonna be the Lightning's year but good god the playoffs were a stunner for a lot of teams.
  • Welcome guys! Love seeing new blood on the site, bonus points for being hockey fans!

This post season has been insane. A lot of fun to watch
  • Oh yeah that was an excellent game, glad to see the Blues tied er up that just means more hockey to watch.
  • Still so heart-broken from my Stars getting knocked out I haven't been keeping up. Just picking up bits here and there. I need to get back in before it's over.
  • Man the Blues are dirty, huh? I mean not just one guy, they have a handful out there head-hunting all game, running over goalies, sitting on people, etc. The hell was with that slash on the empty netter in a 5-2 game, too? Whacked at his ankle like an axe on a tree.

Definitely some high emotions going on mixed with them on average being a pretty large group of dudes (Lots of players over 200lbs I think)

I was hoping this would be an incredibly physical series but it seems that Boston isn't playing that dirty game back which is pretty smart on their part, they don't need to and they want that 5 on 4 advantage as much as possible their PP % is insane.

Yeah, Blues certainly cannot out-talent Boston, so I understand the need to get physical, but how many players do they need to injure before the league steps in and asks the refs to call it a bit tighter? First 15 seconds, dude lined up Backes and smashed him in the head and somehow there’s no call.

On the one hand, Boston will take it with the free PP, but on the other, these are real people out there and one already got sent to the hosptial from a head smash. Physical is great, but a lot of what the Blues do is goonery.

  • It's a complete case by case basis for me especially when it comes to hitting/boarding which is why it usually has to go to Toronto for review every time that happens. A slash for no reason obviously that's kinda horseshit same with the runs at Rask, they looked borderline intentional.

In a Stanley Cup Final though if you want to act like a prick and take penalties like that you are going to pay the ultimate price, they have to relax a little bit. It would be pretty stupid to make it that far especially with the season they had only to ruin their chances by playing like goonies.

I just hope it ends up being a 7 game nail biter.

Yep.  Boston has the manpower to make them knock that shit off when they get tired of it.

  • I was at a wedding and didn't get to watch a min of game 3. Hoping for a cleaner (and closer) match tonight

Remember San Jose game 5?   Like that, but the Blues were the Sharks this time.

    Shameful

  • Ran into Rask again. That's, what, 7 times?
  • Go Bruins!
  • Refs let everything go and then call that lol.
  • Icing??? Coyle was three strides ahead wtf.
  • Wish that play coulda kept going rather than a call be made.
