That is how we judge the house for sale. Got to make sure the garage can fit my tools and monster pickup truck. Don't care about the rest of the house. It is like an express short sale.
  • I stopped going years ago or even looking. Too many people trying to flip/resell.

Back when my parents did their yard sales(2016ish) we had about 3 of em cruise through. They'd walk up to the sidewalk and loudly ask about video games. I'd always tell them no even if we did. If you don't have the decency to walk 15ft and ask a polite question...I don't have the decency to sell you low priced games. May have been 360/gamecube stuff from my brother, but it was the principal of the matter. My wife always tells me I have a problem getting along with other gamers.

Facebook and Craigslist are just as bad. $150 NES system with junk games, $100 N64 with sports games, $150 Ps3s with shooters....and when did Ps2s become $100? Don't forget the $50 games...until you open the link and find individual prices above or at ebay. I got burned once...never again.

I haven't gone to a garage/yard sale in years. Most of the time I never found stuff gaming related, which is why I stopped. I did see a few yard sales over the last week or 2, though, but nothing caught my eye from a slow drive-by (looked like mainly clothes and old furniture). I always had better luck at the bigger (seasonal) flea market, though the last few years the vendors have just been pulling prices from eBay, so it seems like the deals have been dried up around here for a while.

As a fellow (ex) native of CT, I am curious which flea market you go to? Ever been to Mansfield Drive-In or Elephant's Trunk?

Mansfield is where I was talking about   scored some wicked deals there in the early 2010’s

  • Haven't posted in a couple years but my brother texted me this from a sale this past weekend, said the dude wanted $1

  • God dam. $1 for Bubble Bobble 2? Really!
  • That is insane luck
  • I live in Baltimore area, about 15-20mins from harbor area. I don't yard sale at all here for obvious reasons. It was fun when I lived in PA, lots of yard sales, estate sales but here nope and my Goodwill which is 2 miles away from home just started sending stuff to online sales so no more Goodwill trips for me. I do however, travel to flea market in Carlisle, PA every Sunday is about 70miles and always find stuff there but I have to wake up at 3:30am to be there at 4:40am. I collect Transformers G1 and find all kind of various toys to resell or trade with others for stuff I need but as far as games I dont even bother the competition is just too much. Toys are hard to ID and if there is no packaging well then you are out of freaking luck my friend and here is where I come into play and people like me while others looking for that Dino Peak cart.

Haha, right on! You and I were probably there at the same time and never knew it. There were some pretty sweet deals back then. I remeber once I found a complete Genesis for $3 and a stack of NES and N64 CIBs for like 4 or 5 bucks each.

Yeah, definitely had lots of great deals there. I scored a Lufia 1 cart only for $3, CIB ALTTP w/ map for $10, and a SNES Zombies Ate My Neighbors for $5 w/ box.

I'm sure we were there at the same time at some point. Same with the member Mr. Gimmick - he used to go all the time back then too.
  • Jeez I wish I was collecting back then... I'd have so much money for more games lol
