Rare Famicom & SFC/SNES Dev Boards from my collection

Hi everyone!

I pulled these out and finally took some pictures.  Has anyone see these before?  The SNES ones look very similar

to the Powerfest carts or DKC proto in that goofy VHS promo.  I got these off Yahoo Japan a number of years ago.

They came from Culture Brain and there were full cases of their games being liquidated at that time also.  You can still

occasionally run across full cases of their less popular Famicom or Gameboy games.  Any guesses to the value or them?

  • I have no clue what they are worth, but I want one lol. If you wanna sell one of the duplicated hit me up!
  • Not sure about the first, but the second looks to be for testing memory banks and possibly was modified to connect to the system for power or to test specific memory banks at a time. This link has a architectural drawing that pretty much represents what you have:

edit: Another thought I had was this was a prototype for testing having many games on one board.

edit 2: Thread on assemblergames here about those boards, pictures have expired, no pricing available either but cool backstory: https://assemblergames.com/threads/anyone-ever-seen-a-snes-sfx-multichecker.20268/
  • I have a couple of these, and another that is some weird test cart and fact sum checker as well.
  • I had a non-working DKC prototype in one of those carts. Sold it years ago for short money. Maybe $200 or so.

Cool items for sure, but not sure how much demand there'll be without any games loaded on them.
  • Culture Brain is my favorite! I can't imagine these being very easy to keep safe, how do you store them?

Wow, great information!  I'm surprised to see a scan of the manual up!  Looks helpful if someone wanted to try and use these.

Wow, that sounds like a cool item.  Bummer that it didn't work, it could have been the one in the video!

Safe from what? lol.  I had them stashed in a box in the closet, no noticeable degradation and I don't see any extreme humidity in my area.  I decided to list them

on the bay, since I have no idea of value.  You are welcome to buy them and lock them in your video game vault

  • I would see if you can find an electrostatic bag that like a motherboard/graphics card/hard drive comes in just for preservation.
  • Good call.  I've got some motherboard bags around.
