Is it just me or do these games look fake?

Saw this on Facebook market and thought something doesn't look right here. What do yall think?

Comments

  • its impossible to tell anything from that tiny image
  • Likely impossible that any of the games are fake except possibly Pokemon silver. Imagine people spending time and resources to create fake copies of F-1 Race and Home Alone.

Like was said above, hard to tell anything from the terrible quality photo.
  • What on earth looks fake about that? Who fakes golf and home alone and pro quarterback? Cmon man, its real. Gotta use your context clues

that nfl blitz and pokemon wont play on that system though.

Yeah they will, those are the GBC/Original GameBoy carts. The ones that won't play are in the clear shells.
  • It is just you.
  • Looks pretty legit to me. Silvers label looks good and that's the one that would most likely be faked
  • I'll join in with the mob on this one. Pokemon is the only game anyone would bother to fake.
  • Santa wouldn't sell fake games.

Thats why he usually puts them under the tree for free.

  • Well it's just I cant see the Nintendo logo on the top of the carts. Anyone know why when I post a pic it comes out so small and not as clear as the one I screen shot?
  • I'm not saying they are completely fake I just think they have been relabeled on repo carts.
  • I know the confusion, those are Game Boy carts, not NES carts!!! Totally kidding, they look okay to me but tiny...
  • It's likely simply JPG artifacting making the Nintendo logo hard to see at the top of the carts. I very highly doubt any of these are fake or even relabeled repro carts as you say. If in doubt just ask for a closeup shot of one of the games.

well pokemon silver is not a gameboy game. its gameboy color

the other while yes it is a hybrid, it will work, but i had that game growing up and i dont know how you would play without the colors separating the team players.

Pokemon Silver is also a hybrid that plays on an original Game Boy. The Pokemon hybrids that weren't black have caused some heated debate online. Like the fact that Pokemon Yellow is also a GBC hybrid that plays on original Game Boy. If Yellow, Silver, and Gold weren't in colored carts, they'd all be black carts.

As for the original pic, the Ducktales cart looks the most suspect to me. The corners of the label look a little too "round," and the text on the left side doesn't match the alignment of common Ducktales carts. Could all mean nothing.

Pokémon Sliver and Gold both work on Original GameBoy. You are probably thinking of Pokémon Crystal, which will only work on GameBoy Colour.

Just keep in mind that this logic does not apply to GBA titles. They were bootlegged back when every game was $30-$35 MSRP... everything from Spy Kid's 3D to Lizzie McGuire. Pat the NES Punk and others make a big deal when they hear about GameStop selling a bootleg Pokemon cartridge but there was a period *during the GBA's retail life* when you couldn't walk into a GameStop and NOT spot a few bootlegs... if you knew what to look for. Customers and employees were all clueless. Most of the people getting them from eBay were all clueless. They just knew that $17 new was less than $30/$35 at Best Buy.
  • Hate to break it to you but these are definitely fake.
  • without a better picture I'm not sure one can tell one way or the other.
  • These are all 100% fake; I'd get rid of them.

Just kidding, I wouldn't worry OP.
