Canada Black Boxes

Hey all, I’m sure it’s been discussed before but kind of lazy to search for it (sorry).

I think the deal is Mattel produced the Black Boxes in Canada. I have some questions though...

Did all black boxes in Canada come through Mattel? In other words were there black boxes sold in Canada without the Mattel logo?

Next question is did all those Mattel black boxes have both seals of quality (English and French)?

I believe both DK Jr math and Stack Up both have Mattel Canadian versions so I'm going to assume all black box games have a Canadian Mattel release with the English / French print. I think about 60% of my CIBs, including Stack Up are Mattel variants. Going for the CAN set eh?

I recently ordered a gyromite from Canada it has the Mattel seal
I ordered it because a slight misprint

I haven’t decided if I’m going for the CAN set. I was curious because if I had bought and kept all these games from when I was a kid, would they all be the Mattel ones?

Then techncially they wouldnt be variants for us, they would just be the games that we had.

if there was both Mattel and non-Mattel in Canada, then the Mattel are variants. That is what I’m trying to determine.

I don't think anyone has ever seen a dk math. Pretty much everything else though.

Mattel was the distributor.

Yes they have two seals of quality
