Tdrunner, because this is a forum of LRG discussion and this is a letdown. I thought they were atleast bringing these games to new systems, but i see now thats not the case. I see no purpose in them. It wasnt really a criticism of LRG , it was more a criticism of the people actually purchasing this crap.
Who said you had to buy them? I already said im not buying them. I said people should be embarrased to buy them. I get why they are doing it. Its a cash grab, but they literally serve zero purpose. Its a reproduction on the same medium. Lrg is about bringing digital games to physical media, but i guess now they are also about reproductions of old media. For 40 plus shipping , there is a sucker born everyday. These significantly are more expensive then the original carts are now lol.

It does have a purpose, it’s a toy/video game/Star Wars collectible, it’s like the mugs and action figures they sell at GameStop. It’s just not a video game that is meant to be played. It’s just not for people who thought LRG was about selling digital games that couldn’t get published.
Oh excuse me then, its not meant to be played, and its a reprinted collectable? Lolololol. Whatever you need to tell yourself. 40 plus shipping for an already inexpensice game that isnt even good. This is not the same as random merch, which I also dont buy , but still. This is LRG game release. They release games physically that were digital only. Now they cash grab reproductions. Glad to see where they stand. I love game collection stuff as much as the next guy but these releases are a cash grab and serve no purpose. If it was a different medium, i still think its a debate, but there is one. This is not really.
It seems like every time some company releases newer runs of older games people get all hurt and insulting, as was the case with Street Fighter II etc. So yeah, LRG wants to make money. If I was given license to all of the old Star Wars games I'd be milking it too! It's not like they're forcing you to purchase anything. I seriously wonder where all this animosity is coming from? Are people worried it's going to bring the price of their collection down? Maybe it will. Personally, I think what LRG is doing is pretty sweet! I think the "Premium Editions" are way overpriced for what you're getting, so I won't be touching those. I bet it will sell quickly and people will ask 2-4 times on ebay. This is Star Wars after all...

That's fair, but for me, it gets old seeing people complain about a company who provides a great service 99% of the time.
And to me this is the 1 percent of the time where I think its pointless. Thats why i commented. Still waiting on celeste. Wish that dlc would hurry the hell up

I think you are misunderstanding the real complaint. Its not that LRG is really making them. Thats a side point. Im just saying people are ridiculous for buying this crap. LRG has made it pretty clear now they arent soley interested in digital media survival with reprinted existing physical media and making it on the same exact media. I just dont see the point in this at all. I like star wars and I love games and these look absolutely pointless and dumb to me. Out of all star wars games, these titles arent even that fun. Atleast the snes games are fun.
For the record, I never called you out specifically. I was referring to everyone who complains about minor issues with LRG (which is a shit load of people).
I guess I see your point, these are just reproductions of common games. It's like if some random person made a reproduction of Maniac Mansion in their basement, would you buy it for $40? What if it was licensed by Jaleco?
Look at it another way. These games are clearly meant for collectors, specifically people who are nostalgic for these games and want something that looks cool. There is a reason why the packaging for the NES and GB games looks the way it does. It doesn't matter that you can get the original NES game for cheaper. That isn't the point. These games will look great in a collection of other Star Wars memorabilia.
As I said before, I don't plan to buy most of the Star Wars game, but with that said, I'm definitely getting Dark Forces, even though it will be a PC game. I have so many good memories of that game, I'm more than happy to get some type of modern release for it, even if it's only a collector's item (pending final price of course).
Depends on how they sell it for pricing. If they are all separate probably 30-40 plus shipping. If they are together it might get priced at their more expensive release amount of 50-60
I think someone should drop like 40g's on Merc Kings and control thr supply. Make a youtube video were you destroy half of the games and then sell the rest for more poopy thrower style.
Everything is selling kind of slow, maybe because of the large print runs outside of merc kings. I bet this afternoon they will be there for hours.
Yeah should be no problem getting whatever you want this afternoon. The $40 action figure NES cart sold out faster than the $85 box. Not sure if that just reflects the value proposition or is because the packaging of the cheaper one looks cooler

Probably all of the above.
I think I'm going to get a couple more copys of Merc Kings to flip. It's not my general style, but it's a great deal. It's a very good game, low print run, has a manual, the collectors edition is relatively cheap with soundtrack and special case and it ships in August. I think it was overlooked because the resellers ran to the Star Wars stuff. It reminds me of the r-type dx that was up for a couple days before they sold our, and now they are going for good money.

If someone wants to purchase a limited edition Star Wars game, why is that ridiculous? Yes, the game is available in another format(s), but so what? People love this stuff. I'm not a bit surprised they sold out as quick as they did. As for the "point" of all this -- simple, there's demand and LRG is cashing in by offering limited supplies. I understand that this looks "dumb" to you, but that is your opinion. Other people may think "this looks great" and they are entitled to their opinion. All in all, I can understand not being interested in something and/or thinking it's overpriced, but I don't understand animosity towards 1)LRG for wanting to make money off this and 2)people enjoying these reprints.
Sure go by your triple the regular price repro of a bad game. Have fun. I really dont care what people like to do. I can comment however that I think its a dumb waste of money and ridiculous.
I thought the star wars releases were going to be ports to new systems. This is lame

I think peoples gripe is more LRG was supposed to just do physical releases of digital games, not physical re-releases of already physical games. It kind of goes against what they were founded for. I think some are also slighted because they like to collect the LRG games and this seems like a money grab at best. Plus pick a better f'n game to re-release anyways. Like can we get a dope Samson/Bucky O'Hare/Contra Force/Mega Man 1-6/Mighty Final Fight special edition? I get Star Wars is the best way to make money because so many people like it, but damn, so many oppurtinities to do something way cooler. I would have even been cool with Super Mario 3 collectors edition because the box art is a literal masterpiece.

Whoahoaoa, slight criticism from a paying customer! Why you gotta be such an LRG hater and turn this thread into such a hatefest

Any word when the Monkey Island games are coming?
Looks like a pc release which to me is pointless. Probably some point this year
Would have been neat as a compilation game on switch.

Yeah I am aware they are PC, but I'd still think I would like to have them (unless its stupid priced) love that series.

Does any one else think it is interesting that the nes and gameboy star wars sold out and bounty hunter on the ps4 is still available?
7,500 seems like a ton when Play Asia is doing 1,000 copy games
