CIB Super Mario Bros black box LATE 1986 variant

Hello guys! Fellowing Wata's (Kenny's) Black Box Variant Guide (http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=185526).  I am more aware of all the variant, and look for them! I got that ''LATE 1986'' complete version, but I'm pretty sure the cartridge doesn't match the box.  Let's look at the pictures and comment if you can shim my questions!  Thanks in advance!

1) So here's the box, no question here. Beside if I read the guide wrong, and it's not a ''LATE 1986'' version.

2) The manual.. I guess it match. But maybe not???  Your tought...?

3) The cartridge, I think should not have the ''TM'' beside the word ''System''. Beside of that, I think it has to be the same...

4) Does it have to come with the RoB poster?

5) Does the sleeve have to be black or that ''nintendo'' one it good?

6) Does it come with a baggies?

  • Looks good to me. The rob poster is the easiest since there are 27 games, and that is the 1986 release.

The manual I believe has 3 revisions :

First print matte box has no "1985" on the bottom of the right first page

Second print has year and circle seal

Third has oval seal and a nes- code on it

The first print cartridge has the "super Mario bros tm" on the top label, and not the "Nintendo Entertainment System system tm" front like yours has. I'm unsure of the date of your game cart, all I know it isn't the 1985 or early 1986 based on that.

Open to hearing if this is accurate, but this is what's I've pieces together trying to match my stuff up.
  • Thanks for the feedback, look like it's the right manual

But cartridge confirmed that isn't the good fit...

This variant should be the good one :

3A) No ''TM'' beside the word ''System'' on front sticker.   ''TM'' beside ''bros'' on the top sticker.

3B) But what about this one with a ''R'' beside ''system''

  • I had to check mine, here is a better pic of the cart.  I didnt know these had a premium to them until recently.  I got some sticker seal games at a store on vacation a couple years ago... Kinda wish i didnt shove them in my carry on...
