My very first time playing a SNES was definitely on a kiosk at a retail store, in '91 around it's release time. Most likely it was at Target, but it might've been Kmart. I was 8yo. Didn't actually get my SNES until Xmas '92, IIRC.
Way back in fall 1991 (I was in 5th grade at the time) it was love at first sight as soon as I saw this commercial for the first time...
But unfortunately, my parents were the classic "you already have a Nintendo" types
It took three long years, but at long last, for Christmas 1994 (at least this delay helped me make the most of my NES, I guess?). But boy did I get one heck of a fully loaded console! Two controllers and FIVE full Mario games, STANDARD!! Genesisn't only has one game and the second controller is an optional extra. At that time Genesisn't was seen as the "cooler" system but I honestly at the time I saw nothing in it outside of Sonic.
And so the NES/SNES have been my "first loves" of video gaming ever since!

So really, my dad bought it for himself lol. But I have great memories watching him play CastleVania IV and SMW. Great times.
