  • Anyone pick up the Hyperkin Nintendo controllers?
  • No hype for today's Nintendo tapes! The N64 LEs sold out fastest for Google posterity in this thread, although neither the 10am nor 6pm lots sold out very fast. I guess that's what I would've expected.

Also they put $300 worth of Star Wars Nintendo LEs up in one day, I would've thought they'd spread the love around more. Maybe they're loaded on top games for coming weeks?

Bundle sold out super fast first time and second time at 6:03

  • I'm also in the camp that MIGHT have bought Shadow of the Empire if not for the dumb package. A standard box would still looks nice after you open it. These will be ruined if you want to actually play the game

Zero people are buying the Star Wars games to open them.

I don't feel bad opening my LRG games because an opened LRG game is rarer than a sealed one! But for these if you actually want to play any of these games, they're like <$10 for a real copy anyway.

The whole thing just seems silly to me. Especially with the ugly colored carts. Woof.
  • Shadows of the Empire on cart.... finally!
  • Man, so apparently I submitted my confirmation for the waiting list for Galf with a different email, and that invalidated my entry. Um excuse me but what the fuck. I just need to vent..

That's a HUGE red flag for scalpers.  It may not have been your intention, but that's why the canceled it.

  • And I was trying so hard to scalp one copy .... Darn masterminds foiled my plans!
  • Valfaris is up for preorder on Play Asia with a Nov. 1 release. Also, did anyone notice that LRG has Turok 1 and 2 as separate purchases? Can the switch cartridge not hold both?
  • Pretty sure it can but why put them on one cartridge when they can double their money by putting them on two?
  • Im sure it could easily fit on one. But I am excited for Turok, I have been wanting to replay for a long itme but could not deal with my n64s output lol.

So much for LRG only taking on games that never had a physical release. Is Turok even going to be remastered for the Switch release because it’s graphics have not held up well like the rest of the N64 library.

Edit: I mean the entire N64 library graphics have not held up.

  • I'd be a little more thrilled about Turok 1 and 2 if (a) I didn't already get 'em on Xbox One last summer, and (b) if they looked and played as well as on Xbox One and PC.

Great they're coming out physically for those who want it. I had a blast revisiting the games and it was the first time I beat both without cheating, since they were pretty long and kinda difficult on N64 without saving on-the-spot.

I'm most excited for Blazing Chrome and Blaster Master Zero. Those are some great games I'll be happy to add to my shelf.

Now when's FAST RMX gonna be announced?
  • Anyone have any opinions on which Turok is better? I might get one but not both. From memory, 1 has the better campaign but 2 has the multiplayer mode?
  • I think 1 has tighter gameplay, but is smaller in scope and more conventional a shooter

2 has shit multiplayer (though shooting people in the face with arrows that obscure their vision is hilarious) and a huge hub-based single player game with awesome graphics, tons of cool weapon and enemy designs, and a ton of content to sink your teeth. But it was also kind of ...fiddly? I don't know if that's the right word.  But be prepared to backtrack for hard-to-find shit, with respawned enemies, that love to hop over your bullets.
  • I played a little bit of 1 last night and it was a lot of fun! Controls haven't aged well so it might be fun to play as a dual-stick on Switch. I then went to try 2 but the memory card requirements were so ridiculous I didn't bother.
  • Bet the Turok LE games sell out super quickly.
  • Is the grey a standard edition and the others LE?
  • I think the yellow and green are through Limited Run, you can already pre-order the gray cart here: https://jay-and-silent-bob-chronic-blunt-punch.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders/189210. LR also has another edition at $84.99 that comes with some other stuff.

    edit: Collector's edition here: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/08/retro_beat_em_up_jay_and_silent_bob_mall_brawl_gets_a_limited_run_for_nes
  • I like the license on this one, but I have a rule that I don't buy games without seeing gameplay.
  • Yeah I was trying to find some as well only like a teaser on YouTube.
  • One thing I wish they'd start doing is listing how much stuff weighs. Would help on figuring out how much shipping is going to be. Their shipping rates are pretty high for heavier CE's IMO...combined with state tax and my local city tax, I can end up paying like $20 on shipping and tax alone...if not more.
  • Limited Run Games is finally mailing me my Bloodstained:Curse of the Moon Mega Bundle. Another two months and maybe Celeste will get here
