This is what is going to happen to those digital only titles that got physical copies for wii u. I have a feeling value wise the wii u will be like the n64 set. Base value pretty strong for the commons, and a few shoot up that arent as common. The wii u set will be the modern day first collector set since its not a huge library and is attainable.

I might have to pick up a few at some local stores to flip.  I know, I know...  Gotta fund this hobby somehow.

  • For those that have DuckTales sealed... does yours have a yellow 19.99 value sticker on the top of the box? I purchased mine years ago and I believe it was new, but I can't remember where I bought it or if that sticker was placed on there by a retailer.

Us real gamers opened up and played it.

It was a 20 dollar game though. I remember getting mine at target I believe.

  • I remember the PS3 Duck Tales Remastered had two versions. One had a case with no disc, and only a download code for the game. Later there was a version with a disc. Did the Wii U version do the same thing, or do all copies have a disc?

I'm almost certain that every WiiU version came with the disc.

This real gamer already played it digitally by the time I ended up getting the physical version.

And TDI, there is only the Wii U disc version as far as I know. It does seem that some copies have a pin included based on ebay listing, but mine has no mention of that. Might have only been a preorder/first pressing thing. I looked a little more into mine and I bought it from Best Buy in 2015 for $13. I'm guessing anyone else that has the yellow sticker on it has a copy that came from Best Buy too, so it is a retailer added sticker.
  • Target in the States had the pin copy for WiiU. The seal on them are kinda gross though (no fold). All Wii U copies came with a disc.
  • all versions are selling like hot cakes on the bay
  • If Nintendo was smart, they'd delist starfox zero+guard then sit back and watch all of their physical copies move
  • I guess I should update that I completed my set 2 days ago. Zumba was my last game. I lucked into f1 Racing stars a few weeks back at a sale that helped me to power through.

Oh, never considered imports since the system is region locked

  • Question to those of you in the know.  Did games come like this or are they resealed?

    Thanks for the info.

  • Ya that's a reseal from my knowledge
  • Looks less like a videogame seal and more like a sandwich wrap

I have lots of Sealed games for Wii u, none of mine look like that

  • Ive seen small limited releases come sealed with that style before on a ps3 game once, but not quite that janky looking.

Nothing on wii u. I bought a majority of my games new sealed when walmart, gamestop, 3rd party liquidation ebay sellers. I opened a majority of them when I got them to play sample. None of them looked like that. None of the 20+ I still have sealed look like that either.

Is that Rodea the sky soldier by chance? I got a few sealed copies of that game and I can confirm they came like that. Probably because they had to package the Wii version in with it.. that’s probably something Nintendo wouldn’t have been willing to do

  • Pretty sure all copies of Rodea Sky Soldier were wrapped that way new
  • Were copies of Rodea in separate cases like that? The one I have has it all in a single case (both manuals, both discs, and either a reversible insert or a separate one for the Wii version, I will have to double check).

My guess is we’re looking at two sealed copies of Rodea. Each one has the Wii U version and the Wii version both in the same case

  • Ya you guys are right, Rodea did look something like that

LOL, I am an idiot. I thought they were both stuck together and shrinkwrapped after. Looking closer I see the person is holding two separate shrinkwrapped copies together with his hands.

  • I should have posted what they were. One is "Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed" (Selects Version) and the other is "Sonic Lost World".

    Thanks for the info.
  • My copy of Rodea looks the same.

It's still sealed from when I bought it at Best Buy.
  • I opened rodea when I got it. Forgot it was like that. What got on my nerves about that release was the fact the 3ds version looks identical to the wii u version if sealed. You would have to open it or figure out if they weight different to see which one is which. My friend got both and the only way to tell was the receipt in each package lol.
