Price Check HD DVD Lot

I'm thinking of selling my HD DVD Lot but not sure how much to put it for sale, this is what I have:
  • HD DVD Player Xbox 360 w/King Kong HD DVD
  • Children of Men
  • Transformers
  • The Thing (Sealed)
  • Babel (Sealed)
  • Battle Star Galactica Season One (Sealed)
  • Casino
  • Dawn of the Dead (Remake)
  • Batman Begins*
  • 2001: A Space Oddysey*
  • Troy*
  • 300*
  • Planet Earth*
The player and movies are all in like new condition, probably watche them once or twice at most.
The movies with a "*" next to them, I don't have the original inserts, however I have color printed new inserts in plain paper and look really good.

How much you guys think I could get for this collection?

  • Is that a separate attachment that attaches to the Xbox 360 so you would need to own a 360 to use this?
  • I was under the assumption that HD DVD's are worthless now, akin to Betamax.

Is there some kind of collectible value to them or something that I'm missing?
  • yes, its a separate attachment, you need an xbox360
  • Some of those HD DVD's are selling at HMV for 6 bucks a piece or 4 for 20.
  • Yeah, most HD-DVDs are virtually worthless nowadays...I've seen them at Kroger (grocery chain) for as little as $2.50 each, and they're still sitting on the shelves. I believe the only HD-DVD that does sell for anything is The Bee Movie, which was technically unreleased, though a few copies slipped out (there were three on eBay near its would-be release date, one ended for $35, one ended for $55, and the third ended for $400 or something ridiculous like that)...
  • Wow! That's definitely higher than I would have thought.

It's still funny to me that people treat HD-DVDs as if they are dirty, filthy plague-bearers. I have about 30 of them and they work just as well as my Blu-Rays in my opinion image I remember running out and snapping up tons of of 'em as soon as the announcement of its failure went out.

i wish I had bought them when they were running out and deeply discounted. But no, I bought 80 of them all at full retail....le sigh.  They still are just the same as Blu-ray and a few of them are still hd-dvd exclusive.  Plus I used the 360 hd-dvd drive to rip them all to my media center PC anyways so if my player ever does die, I can still watch them all in full HD glory.
  • I, too, bought an HD-DVD player when they were available. Luckily, I only paid $130 for the player, and sold it with about 8 movies for $100ish.
So, I ended up losing some money, but it could have been a hell of a lot worse (some of the initial players were $800+!!)

    Now I have a Blu-Ray player, because I'm a tech nerd. image
  • ^ I'd get a combo BD + HD DVD player, if I could afford it. And then, because my tech nerdiness gears more towards vintage tech, I'd attempt and somehow succeed in hooking it up to my 1974 Penncrest 12" black-and-white TV image .
  • ^Haha...that would be epic...

Also, yeah, I considered getting the combo player, but I really only had 8 movies and the few available at the time all had only mediocre ratings or were enormously expensive.
