NP Comics

A while ago there was a thread posted with a link to these in a digital format, though my search of the forum didn't turn anything up.

My wife just got an e-reader, and I'd love to have a copy of these to read on the device for a quick nostalgia fix, once in awhile.

Any leads?

  • EDIT: Link deleted
  • You used to be able to download all the nintendo powers from retromags.com, but just your luck, I just checked it:

"Dear Member, As of December 14th 2009 we can no longer distribute magazines from the Retromags server. I recieved a violation that required me to remove all magazines from our site within 48 hours or risk being terminated. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Phillyman"
    I have a few of the older issues download I could get to you, but none of the ones with comics in it ;_;
  • Damn...yeah, having the entire back-catalog of NP would be awesome.
  • Arch, I'll check and see if I have just the comics. I think I may have them somewhere. I'll check tonight and let you know.
  • I found the following links:

    Mario Comics from Nintendo Power:

    Zelda Comics:

  • Cool, thanks.
  • Does that help? What format would you need it in? I've combined jpegs into PDF and could do it if you needed it?
  • PDF would probably be optimal, but from what I understand there is a e-comic format that aggregates image files, right?
  • are these the same comics that were in the Nintendo Comic System?
  • The ones from Nintendo Power. Some of the links are the Nintendo Power comics that were later published in a book, but the same comics.

@arch - I think that there is. What e-reader does your wife have, it would probably have to support that format.
  • she has a Sony -300

I'm looking into scrapping the POS sony software and use Calibre and it's converter instead. Supposedly it's MUCH better.
  • OK, well let me know if you would like for me to convert it to pdf. I won't be able to get to it until Thursday or Friday, but I'm more than willing to help.
  • Cool. I'll see what my options are with Calibre, first, since it has some auto-format/conversion features of it's own.
  • Sounds cool, just let me know! God bless!
