Official SNES Database scans

I'm taking over now image. Alright, so the old thread was MRN's and sort of unorganized so this thread will be more organized.

If you have any games you'd like to scan, send me your list and I will let you know if you can do them or if those have already been covered by someone else. I will update this post with the games that have already been done/are going to be done, and who's doing them. So, even if you PM'd MRN or sent him a list, you're going to need to re-send them to me.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SCANNING BEFORE YOU SCAN IT!!! We don't want to waste anybody's time by having two people scan the same game.

Another note: If your manuals are too mint and you don't want to ruin them by scanning, that's perfectly alright, we've probably got it covered by someone else, just let me know if you're doing CIB or CB.

Scan Guidelines:

150dpi jpeg files

CROPPED

See examples in the N64 and NES databases for the format of the manuals/boxes/carts.

Also, here is the PREFERRED way of saving your scans. You don't have to do it this way, but it would be appreciated and easier for me:

Box front saved as: Game Title F

Box back saved as : Game Title B

Cart saved as: Game Title C

And scan the cart back ONLY if there's a weird back label, or if it's engraved in (sort of a variant). If so, title it: Game Title C2

If/when I tell you that you can scan them, and when you're done with them, please send them to me at:  supernesman@mac.com along with a list of what you have sent (so I can post it in the thread)

Any other questions? Just PM me. Thanks for all your help guys, lets try to finish this database ASAP image

Here is a link to the collection tool where I will have a collection named "SNES Database Scans" to track all the scans that have been done/are going to be done.

Alrighty, Shags when you see this please send the scans you have to my email....unless you have them Michael?

  • you've got mail
  • would it be easier to just send them to MRN or do you have upload power

Well send them to me first, because I will be the one keeping track of what's been done and I will hold onto all the scans until we have all/almost all of them. Then I will send to MRN when they're done.
  • ok sounds good, as a few of my boxes are place holders and could probably use better scans i.e. ISS. I thought I was finished then I noticed I missed Chavez II which has a 60 page manual so I will get that scanned and get them sent to you.
  • i dont have a scanner so i cant be of much help with scanning, i can help with some rarity numbers, belive me lol
  • I just uploaded a bunch of stuff. Keep 'em comming!
  • I have about 150 boxes scanned, all 300 DPI, raw and saved as PNG. If you want them, I can send them to you (though I am not on a high speed connection at the moment).
  • ^Sure, you can just send them to me. It would be best if you compressed them first to speed up the transfer.
  • I have a sealed copy of super play action football. I am sure somebody already has an CIB. Why does mine have a rattling noise in it. Sounds like a tiny "marble" type object is inside it. Any ideas?
  • I have a few things I can scan. Is it safe to assume that if there are no images currently in the DB that they are still needed, or no?
  • I have a several I may be able to scan, but which ones are needed? I have alot of expensive rpgs, but I am sure people have already submitted them.

If they are in the database then they are for sure not needed. If they are not in it, then still send me a list of what you've got and I can let you know if we have it taken care of or not.

If you can just send me a list of what games you have then I could let you know if someone is already doing it. I don't think there are a lot of the RPG's taken care of, so there's a good chance that you may have a lot we need.
  • Yikes, been awhile. Bump!

If you guys have even just a few manuals, or a few games, it's worth the trouble image. We need your help!
  • ok here is a question i have like 80 snes games with boxes but hte boxes have been cut but they were cut on corners so teh front back and side faces are still intact would those be somthing you could use? if soe i would be more then happy to make scans of them and the games if they are needed as well
  • Is there an incentive to doing this, like a cool icon thingy? I wish i could get one sometime.

Anyways, I have a CIB brainies coming. LMK if you need it image

two questions who keeps track of how many uploads we've done? you guys or us?
and does it have to be a scan comprising of C+I+B to count as one upload or can it be just a cart to count as one upload? thanks

As for who's keeping track of them, not me.  There's only one person who's come close.  I would say it is up to you to prove it to me...and Dain, I suppose.

As for the second question, I think that I made that as clear as it is in the FAQ.

    100 CARTS

100 MANUALS (All pages, formatted correctly) &

    100 BOXES (front and back)

100 carts would take you maybe an hour, 100 CIBs would take you several months...unless your a 16 year old who slacks off all the time.  image

  • PM sent!
  • All PMs should be replied to, thanks for the help guys!
  • I know these are already in the database... Here are some higher quality, 400dpi scans of of the Donkey Kong Jr. Math box...
