So there's a brief story to share with about the jacket.  I rarely gloat, but this particular occasion compels me.  As most will have seen, I had a WTB thread running on this jacket.  At the beginning of this month, after much searching and hoping, a member finally PM'd me suggesting they might have one available.  They wanted to know if I had any promo items to trade, or how much I'd be willing to pay for the item.  I said I had no items to trade, as I hold on to my promo items as much as possible, but would gladly offer a hefty sum out of my paypal balance.  I let the member know the last jacket on ebay sold in the $40's + shipping (after being being advertised on Gamesniped, nonetheless), but as I wanted to secure this jacket quickly and pay generously for the trouble of someone unloading it in my direction, I told him I would gladly pay $100 shipped for his.  As far as I'm aware, this is more than any promo jacket has sold for on our forums (thinking of the Wizardry jacket, here).  The seller also had another item which I was looking for, and I said if he was yet amenable to selling that one as well, I'd be like to make an offer on that, too.  Well, he wasn't interested in selling me the other item I was looking for, and said that if my offer on the jacket "had been high enough", he'd have let it go for cash.  I was a bit flabbergasted - Given the public sale of the last jacket, I couldn't fathom what the definition of "high enough" would be, and asked him as much.  That way I could at least determine if it would be within my budget to try and come up with whatever amount the seller was asking.  Well, it was for naught, as the seller never replied to my PM after that, much to my dismay.

A mere two days later, my saved search kicks out a "Play It Loud jacket".  I am ecstatic, as I thought I would end up having to wait forever at the chance to catch this jacket again.  Bidding began at $0.99, and I started it off with just that.  Days went by, and I was never outbid.  At last, on the final morning of the auction, someone cast a bid over my mere $1 I had put down.  Nervously, I set a snipe to go off for $150, hoping against hope that the other bidder hadn't cast too high of a max bid.  Granted, this was well over my original offer of $100 to the seller here, but as I had bid on the first jacket that ended in the $40's, and my offer of $100 had now been turned away, I didn't want to take any chances.  As the auction ticked down to its final moments, I watched my snipe drop.  The final, ugly total was...

$2.75, with another $12.50 tacked on for shipping in a flat rate.  So, for a whopping $15, I have an excellent jacket to complement my totally awesome hat.

Nah nyah nyah, nah nyah nyah, oh, and umm, nah nyah nyah.  image
(and if you ever decide to sell that other item I'm looking for, PM me, damnit!)
