Canadian Variants

Thought this was cool.

So I'm folding in NGD's old Canadian collection that I bought from him into mine and I come to Cobra Triangle and I'm thinking that NGD's is in nicer shape than the one I got from Battymo.  Well I notice that one box has the wierd * after the code and the other doesn't.  So I found on the side of the box the warranty information was different but then I noticed that the one without the * was a hang-tab box and the box with the * in the code was a non-hang tab box.  Yet both are double white oval seal boxes and both carts are 3-screw white oval seal.

Any Canadian collectors find any star coded box variants like this one?

  • Already money well spent! Yay variants!

  • Well it was a hell of a lot of fun to sit down with all your CAN stuff and meld it in with mine and look for upgrades and variants, I found a few variants, a few things I needed, and even a couple upgrades, so it was very nice. Something like this doesn't come up very often for me anymore. In fact the last time it did was when you sold me your entire PAL collection that I folded into mine. image
  • I wish all of it would have been in a little better shape for you, but those damn Canucks destroy boxes and manuals. At least you had some fun doing it and you found some stuff you needed. image

  • Yep agreed, but I'm happy!

Now to find the next collection of CAN stuff that I can buy and assimalate. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
  • population wise the US is way bigger too, so it should in theory make Canadian stuff tougher to find. Could be why you don't see as much of it.
  • ^And we have a lot of -USA stuff floating around, for whatever reasons.
  • By far the oddest CAN stuff I have though is a Tetris and Dr Mario that are -USA coded boxes BUT they have stickers on them covering the entire top flaps and some on the front of the box that make them mirror the outside of -CAN boxes. Very strange.
