Help Wanted!
I'm having a problem with the Nintendo 64 randomly shutting off and on. The N64 is plugged into a surge protector.

is the power connection to the 64 tight?

You need to tap it every so often to keep the hamsters inside awake and running on their wheels.
Is the system or the AC adapter unusually hot to the touch when it cuts out? Also is it on a very rigid surface that transmits vibration easily?

Most likely the ac adapter. It tends to do that after some time. If you can't get a new AC adapter, you'll have to find a way to keep it in place. I put a sock under it to keep it in the right position
. But anyways, it sometimes resets.

Volt Reg, is blown. So your N64 is unable to cycle enough electricity causing the system to reset itself.
You need a new power adapter.
