Offline collection tool?

So I finally got internet in my new apartment - ready to use the collection tool.
But I was wondering, is there any way to do it offline? Or must you be logged into NA to use it

  • Oooh, I don't know if there is currently a way to do it, as I haven't had much time to check out the tool, but is there an export option? Like, have it download in a database file with the tabs in between to separate the entries or whatever... then have a separate program for use on the PC which you can import your own database. That would be killer.
  • I don't know. I'm liking the tool (have started yet, but looking around at it) and it's awesome - but it would be awesome to use it outside of NA.
  • This isn't using it offline, but if you have a typed list, go here:

*Top nav bar* My Home > *side bar* Collections > *top tab* List Loader (bulk)

  • Will that work with excel files?

I don't think you can actually use the excel file itself, but rather just copy/paste the titles into the bulk loader. The only excel thing I saw so far was just to download your list once its already up.
  • Ya - PSerge took a look @ my file and said it would be difficult because it's heavily formatted. But that's okay, I'll manually input. The problem is that I have to be on the internet & NA to do that. Hence why an offline tool would be great.

I guess the easiest way is make an "offline" text list and just upload it using the bulk loader (a Paul suggestion).

  • What kind of formatting are you talking about? You should be able to strip just the text only from the spreadsheet. Even if you have multiple entrys in one cell, it still shouldn't be too hard to separate it all with a few clicks.
