I got another rare 5-screw cart today
I went with my father-in-law to 2 local flea markets, and an estate sale today, only looking for video games. At the 2nd flea market, I found this 5-screw. I had to fork out $10 for it, so hopefully its worth more than that, but in the end, its a decent game.

And for the future, you may want to refer to this so you don't overpay. Anything 7-8 is usually worth spending a couple extra bucks on, but that's usually it. 9 + 10, that's different.
It's an R4 for 5 screw
Its rated as a 6 in the E-Zine...
edit: ah you're using mine. Yeah I forget which games I upgraded, but I do remember that Burgertime was kind of a pain to get for a reasonable price and it's certainly a bit more than a 4-relative-rarity.
That said, the guys are right, please stick to R7+ for any sort of announcement.
^ I believe it is a 4 (at least the list I used). This one's really not that tough to track down. Try to focus on the rarer ones if you're looking to find something good (5 screw - alpha mission, castlevania 3, DK, megaman, super c, super pitfall and 3 screw - DK Jr Math, gyromite, volleyball, ninja kid)
Weren't the Castlevania 3 and Super C just odd balls? And the DK isn't 3-screw the rare one?
One person gets bad info, or perhaps good info that's not duplicated and verified, and it propagates through the internet.
Erik has the 3 screw DK Jr Math, so it really does look like anything is possible with these oddities.
Finding an anachronism like a 5-screw Super C or CVIII is explainable by the company using "old supplies" to complete an order. Also, we've seen a trend that late-release Konami titles (and Ultra, their subsidiary) saw VERY limited release in 5-screw, so although they aren't _really_ variants, their mutual existence helps to explain their presence -- NOA stuck Konami with a bunch of old supply stock, and they threw their new games into it.
However, finding a 3-screw cartridge on a game that heretofore only existed as 5-screw is a different beast. It meant that at some point, some production was made AFTER the changeover of this game, however small. Since 3-screw carts didn't exist during the initial production run, it must have been a later production to fill the tiny reorders that trickled in.
And what's to say there isn't a 3-screw any-other-5-screw-only game is me having looked at every copy which has come across eBay in the past two and a half years
The image of the Gumshoe that was supposed to verify it was a CAN upon closer inspection. The Soccer was purely a mistake, Dain thought he had one and in fact it was a PAL version. Clu has never been even rumored to have the variant, but it was tremendously unpopular in the USA market and likely never warranted any reorders.
Of course I'd love to see these, and I still keep my vigil, I search every night for the unfound variants (not just screw ones, either). But I've seen a LOT of each of these at this point
PS - Gumshoe was taken out of production before the Action Set, meaning like Stack-Up (another 5-screw exclusive) it required the purchase of an additional expensive accessory to use. It was never re-released after the Zapper became a household fixture, and it that's why it's likely to only be 5-screw only.
And Soccer was like the Curling of the 1980's -- something those weird foreigners did, that very few people in the USA actually cared about. Although out of the lot I have to say it's the most likely to actually have a 3-screw...hey, Volleyball got one
