These are for my PS3, but Im kinda confused over the packaging...

These came into my store the other day.  I wanted new controllers, but I had no idea they made white Dualshocks til I opened the box containing these.  So I bought them, of course, and I noticed the back is all Japanese.  Can somebody shed some light on that for me?

    The first Dualshock PS3 controllers were released in Japan a good while before they came out here (and they were white). I don't think you can get an American white one; I'm pretty sure you can only get black, silver (at Gamestop), and I believe I've seen official blue ones.

    We always have black, blue, red, and silver in stock, but this is the first white ones Ive seen.

    Did you get them in as regular stock, or on a trade-in of some sort?

    Those are standard Japanese-release Dual Shock 3 controllers. Yes, btw, these are released stateside...there's a few on the shelf at my local Wal-Mart.

    yep I have one of these. Its a Japan only release but works perfectly fine with US systems.

    it depends on if the company gets it games and hardware through Sony or a Wholesale distributor. If they deal with Sony, they only get items for that region. If tey deal with a wholesaler, they will get whatever the wholesaler has extras of. In this case they had extra Japanese white controllers, so that is what they sent. All the controllers are region free, so it doesn't matter. the only difference is the packaging and color.

    The white Dual Shock 3's are not a Japan-only release...there are 3 on the shelf at my local Wal-Mart image .

    yep we have white controllers at my wal mart also. i plan on picking up a second one shortly in the white
