NES roms, homebrew, protos, where? Powerpak ques.

Hi there. I want to ask you for sites with legally released ROMS (according to NintendoAge rules) that work with the powerpak. Where can I get roms of the Uforce POwergames, Glider, etc., all those homebrew games and protos. Also, does glider work with the powerpak? does it have the option to load new game maps (like with the cart sold by retrozone: Glider)?

One last question: some of my roms don't load, and the powerpack says "Bad Header" something. Is there a way to fix the ROMS, or I just have to keep looking?

Edited this post to comply with forum rules.

  • I'm pretty sure that glider uses a custom mapper, and therefore can only be run using the actual cartridge. This thread has the monthly released protos in it.

all the info you need concerning roms of unaltered released games

concerning games that are on retrozone... I don't know if they are available for download \i would guess that they wouldn't be because if they were bunny would be loosing money
proto's... check the proto section you were linked to...

proto roms... DP has had some in the proto section Assemblergames has some in the unreleased section. X-cult has some for beta builds etc etc etc. unseen64 has stuff. lost levels as well
  • Usually sharing of roms is frowned upon here, but I dont think there is a problem with me posting the u-force roms as they were community released and mad publicly available here. if thats a problem, my apologies, and please delete my post.
You'll find 2 versons of the U-Force rom at the bottom as attachments.
As for roms, I recommend using a torrent client and finding a ROM torrent.

Ok, now I know, thank you. I suggest to put that clearly in the forum's rules, as a "reason to get banned after repeated violations" or something like that. I'll just edit the post to retire the offending question.

Also, thankyou for sharing the information and ROMS!

  • Glider is a custom mapper, so yeah, you have to have the cart. Most of the in production homebrews don't have public roms. I think Tic Tac XO and Pegs may be available from Rob's website. If you buy the homebrews though I can say that you could dump them and they do work on the powerpak.

The bad header either means the rom is bad, or the mapper is wrong for the rom, or the mapper isn't supported by the powerpak. There are uncompatible games
  • Is there a comprehensive list of uncompatible games? I tried to get one, but had no luck.

There is a list. Search the old posts about Powerpak. I'm too lazy right now, but I started the thread.

  • Yes. This is bad. Use this site: google.com

Is that everything you need? Cause I will lock 'er up if you're done.
  • I already modified my post, there's no need to be aggressive.  I also must note that the google.com remark is unnecessary, as I was asking for suggestions of good sites (I know some sites already, just wanted to know if there were better ones), not for a specific file.

Please leave the thread, I want to know more about powerpak issues and public releases.

EDIT: I said leave the thread, but I meant, please don't lock it. English is not my primary language (Congraturations!)

  • because your new I'm just going to say and I'm not trying to come off like an A$$ or anything like it in the least but you might not want to tell a Moderator to "leave the thread" just generally probably not a good thing to do... actually not really a good thing to do to anyone here... trying to keep everything positive image

Edit to add here is a link to a similar thread about incompatible roms http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=16407&highlight_key=y&keyword1=powerpak roms
  • now we're talking, thanks Martin
  • check out my edit to my previous post for incompatibilities

hahaha, this must be a language kind of misunderstanding. WHen I said "please leave the thread", I meant "please don't remove it", not "get out of here"!

In spanish "dejar" (leave) can be understood as "don't move it from it's place", or "don't alter it". I want to keep it as positive as possible image
