Repair guide for SNES anyone? all help appreciated

As title and subdescription state i have 2 broken SNES systems...one I believe has a power problem (not the AC adapter mind you)...and the other has what appears to be either a pin problem or more likely a problem with the main board

my thinking is is if i can get the power supply section off of the one with the bad snes motherboard and move it to the one with the bad power connection i'll have one working system

so if you know of a guide or anything that would help me out that would be great

Thanks,

Ant

  • I had two just like you saying. the one was really yellowed and wouldnt play and the other had a bad power connection. i took both apart to switch out ,but the power connection was soldered down to the board. I tried using a soldering iron to get it off but ended up ruining both. good advise is get the soldering stuff that sucks up the solder I think thats whay my problem was. as of a book maybe one of the guys that have bought out test stations could help
  • Have you measured the voltage on the SNES?

Start to measure from the AC adapter plug on the SNES...Where does the voltage stops?

Then you can find out which component that is faulty.

Maybe it's just the fuse that is soldered on the board that is faulty?.

I don't know if you read my "pirate NES console" thread.

The power problem I had on that console was a loose soldering and a faulty regulator.
