Any hope for this cart?

I got this cart today in a lot I bought off Craigslist. I don't collect unlicensed so really have no interest in keeping it. The ezine has this one for $28 I believe so I was hoping it could be salvageable. Any suggestions?

    I'm pretty sure that should be no problem.. The Void sticker will be a pain, I like to use a little bit of Goo Gone or denatured alcohol on the void sticker and the marker... Just use a little teeny tiny bit at a time..



    Someone here could probably give you a better walk thru on what to do, I'm out of practice as I've decided stickers and marker add character. image

    I would rough up the void sticker with your fingernail, put a bit of goo gone on it and then rub it off with a rag or an old tshirt. It should come right off with little effort. For the marker, I would just take some rubbing alcohol on the end of a q-tip and start rubbing it off, using either a magic eraser or a pencil eraser to help the process.

    If you do choose to use a magic eraser be careful with it. I've saw some people before talking about the feel of the game being different in that area (not sure if it is such a big deal in this case as it looks smooth already)... just throwing that out there though

    Pencil eraser works great on magic marker, but it does alter the feel of the cart. It would probably be ok on a smooth cart like that one like Stingray said, but regular gray NES carts were not perfectly smooth. It kind of wears down the surface a bit, plus it can't really get all the marker that gets down in the little pores.

    I've had good results using a little bit of WD-40 and a paper towel. That'll take off marker as well as sticker gunk. By the way, nothingface023, your username is eerily similar to mine. And I think we registered for the board at almost the same time. Go figure.

    @nothing02: isn't this site great? But yeah, that's the username I use for everything. Nothingface is the name of a metal band I listen to (they recently broke up for the second time, too). I've just always liked the name.
