My Trip & Findings 1/23

During a trip out of town today I stopped at a Play & Trade, Goodwill & a place called Gamers Galaxy. Overall Im happy that I was able to find some cheaper games to add to my collection. I was thinking that Goodwill and Gamers Galaxy would be some of the better places to stop but it turned out that Play & Trade was the only place that I bought games.

- Gamers Galaxy was very disappointing. It was a local game store that also have
large screen TV's that you could pay to play on, they also hosted tournamets and Magic and other card games (Really dislike these games!) They had quite a big selection of vintage games but everything was behind the counter. So this means you look through a list of games and most without prices, ask the price and then they had to make sure they still had the game. I was going
to pick up Tecmo Bowl for 2.99 but they didn't have it after it was listed on the game list. I then asked that I was looking to buy some of the cheaper games. The worker at the store gave me a couple options on cheaper games and said he had 10 Yard Fight and it would be $5. After I heard that I soon left. Haha $5 for 10 Yard Fight, no thanks. Not only were the prices not listed but you don't even know if the game is in stock unless you ask. To me I would rather look through the games myself rather than a person behind the counter, I have to look for condition and all that as well.

-Goodwill I found nothing. The only thing I saw was an old gameboy carrying case (dusty as hell) and a few Genesis sports games and SNES sports games like Live 95 and PGA Tour. They also had a handful of 2600 games but I don't have the slight bit of intrest in the system. To me I think the prices at goodwill are too much espically when they end up getting the majority of the items they sell for free. I was going to buy He Got Game on VHS. Its one of my favorite movies about basketball and they wanted 2.99 for a VHS (To me thats way to high for an old VHS your lucky if you can get a dollar for one and being at goodwill it should be cheaper. On top of that they take alot of the nice video game system lots and ect and sell them on their own ebay style auction site. NES games out in the classic game rack with the other games for older systems that were inexpensive (only one rack for classic games tho)
Here is a list of the games I picked up and the prices.

    N64 Games
-WCW Vs NWO Revenge (My favorite wrestling game of all time) .99 cents
-Madden 2000  (I've prolly played Madden 2000 more than any other Madden Game) .99 Cents

  • Overall I got a total of 10 games all at just about the lowest price you can find single games, I was pleased because they are all games I needed in my collection.

To make it an even better deal on the sales slip I received NES Golf and Basewars for free. I'm not sure why or how this happened unless if you buy so many games you get one free. I'm not sure. But anyways

I got all the games listed for like 8.50 or so. Not a bad deal and not all are needed for my collection.

I also found some xbox 360 boxers that come in a circular tin. I paid 5 dollars for these. I bought a few pairs. Let me know if your interested in them. You can have them fron $6 plus shipping. They retail for over

20 and are nice, soft and comfortable and come with a nice tin. Let me know what you think.
  • That Gamer's Galaxy store sounds like pretty much the worst game store ever.
  • Yea I wasn't impressed I really think its one of those stores that just takes young adults and kids money that like to play magic and all that. There was a group of kids in there playing when I came in, I almost thought they didn't sell classic games when I walked in.
