I want to make my own game but i dont know where to start!

I'm new to the home brew world but love the concept, and I'm very interested in making my own game, but I not only not know where to start i have no clue what I'm getting in to, it sounds fun but as I stated I'm lost when it comes to these things can anyone give me an idea of where to look to learn, I'm specifically looking for a book or web site that can take me step by step through the creating process from beginning to end, including what software and Hardware i need and where to get it, any response would be appreciated, thank you Harley

what Right Nut said. check out the tutorials and ask questions in the brewery. there's quite a few programmers around here who can help.

What programming experience do you have? If you've never programmed anything before, ASM can be daunting...have you taken school courses?
